Cody Refuses Archer A Match And Says “Maybe Down The Road”

Ever since WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts debuted in All Elite Wrestling, he made it perfectly clear that he and his client, Lance Archer, want a piece of Cody and are after him.

Last week’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw “The American Nightmare” Cody compete in a singles match and even perform guest commentary duties. After the match, Jake “The Snake” Roberts got on the big screen and said that Lance Archer is chomping at the bit to get in the ring with someone. Roberts then said that all he is asking is for Archer to get one match with Cody Rhodes (Roberts also mentioned bringing Arn Anderson and Brandi Rhodes) and said that it is up to Cody Rhodes.

Cody Rhodes then responded to Jake Roberts and said that Lance Archer can make his in-ring debut on this coming Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite. Lance Archer’s in-ring debut would then be confirmed for this Wednesday’s Dynamite, but an opponent was yet to be named or announced.

Unfortunately for Jake Roberts and Lance Archer, Cody Rhodes took to Twitter and said that he appreciates Archer and Archer’s skillset, but Archer has yet to face anyone in AEW, so he must first get a number of matches under his belt before Cody even considers facing him and Archer’s in-ring debut will take place on Wednesday, but not against Cody. Their match can possibly take place down the road.
