As previously reported, despite All Elite Wrestling’s success, there are rumors and speculations that the EVPs of the company namely Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks are involved in some sort of an issue or disagreement, in what is being called as infighting.
During an episode of the Wade Keller Pro Wrestling Podcast, Pro Wrestling Torch’s Wade Keller and Pro Wrestling Net’s Jason Powell talked about the rumors of the infighting between the EVPs.
Keller said a book is going to be written someday by some of AEW’s EVPs or by someone else who may be closely observing the situation and the world will then learn about a lot of dysfunction. Keller also said he thinks the world will find out which certain key people in the company aren’t even talking to each other anymore.
Jason Powell then said there is a certain someone who could be a difference maker if he ends up going to AEW, but he is hesitant to go there due to the rumors of the infighting.
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes recently took part in a media scrum to promote and hype Sunday’s Double or Nothing Event, where he was also asked about the rumors and speculations of the infighting.
This is what Cody Rhodes said:
“When I heard that story was floating around, it is when of the things I chopped up as we’ve been very successful, AEW, and with NXT and the Wednesday Night Wars, it created a lot of anger and I understand there is a lot of hardcore NXT and WWE fans out there and that’s why those stories like that don’t surprise me.
“I think people need to cling to something and as sexy as that story is, I talk to Matt and Nick every day, I talk to Kenny very often. I support their projects fully and they’ve been supportive of all my projects. We would not be able to put this show on the air.”
“Tony [Khan] is the man and he’s the boss, but we wouldn’t be able to put the show on the air if the four of us were not functioning as one team. Unfortunately, it’s not very sexy to say, but there is no truth to that…we will remain one team.”
