Colt Cabana’s Return To AEW Didn’t Go Unnoticed By The WWE

Last Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw ROH World Champion “The Ocho” Chris Jericho defend his ROH World Championship against former 2-time ROH World Tag Team Champion Colt Cabana, but Jericho would walk out of the highly physical matchup still the reigning ROH World Champion. Despite his loss against The Ocho, Cabana’s return to AEW got a huge reaction from the fans in the arena and on social media and the WWE reportedly took notice as well.

WrestleVotes mentioned, via their Twitter account, that Cabana’s return didn’t go unnoticed by people from WWE’s Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, but there’s no word yet on what that exactly means, though there are speculations that this could mean the WWE might be interested in bringing former AEW World Champion CM Punk back to the company as a way to take a big shot at All Elite Wrestling.

This is similar to Cody Rhodes’ return to the WWE as it was seen as a big blow to All Elite Wrestling at the time and having Punk return to the company would be a massive way to send another message that the war is still on between both promotions as CM Punk was one of the top draws in AEW. As previously reported, CM Punk competing for AEW once again seems highly unlikely, but CM Punk returning to WWE is a huge possibility as Triple H’s stance on Punk making his return to the company has changed, so Punk could be making his return at WrestleMania since he his currently out of action due to an injury.
