Bryan Danielson is in hot pursuit of the AEW World Championship, and at Winter Is Coming, he has a chance to take said championship form one Adam Page. Can “Hangman” hold onto the gold, or will Danielson be the 5th ever AEW World Champion?
That certainly remains to be seen, but to say that Danielson has shattered expectations since entering AEW a few months back would be putting it too mildly. He sat down with TV Insider and went into his future—specifically which young member of the roster he’s most interested in working with in a stable or faction. He said:
“If I can get a group together, I’m thinking of a younger talent or two that develops into stories within that. Look at Sammy Guevara and Chris Jericho. By Sammy joining the Inner Circle, he’d become a bigger star. He then stepped up to the plate and hit home runs. That’s how you build young stars. A guy that comes to mind for me is Daniel Garcia…
The one show my wife and I couldn’t stop watching was Game of Thrones. It just made you come back every week. Helping AEW, I want to help that need for viewers to come back every week. I think they’ve already created the best wrestling product in the United States than we’ve seen in years. Helping to get more fans watching and give the feeling like it’s must-see television every week, those are my overarching goals not only for this year but the three years I’m here…
It’s all a lot easier when they care about someone. If Hangman Page wasn’t someone people cared about, it would have been very easy for the crowd to turn on him rather than me. They love this guy. I haven’t done anything so mean or dastardly, yet. I try to not make great changes in my character. I think my time in AEW, I’ve been aggressive, a little bit of a jerk people like. But it’s not hard to switch to a jerk who people don’t like.”

Ciampa drops cryptic message to Johnny “Wrestling” himself
The two have quite the history at NXT. They worked together and they worked against one another, having some pretty epic battles along the way.
Tonight, they are set to team together in quite the impressive War Games matchup, and judging by a cryptic message posted by Ciampa himself, it looks like Johnny Gargano will be taking his leave from WWE.
It has made the rounds that Gargano’s contract was up (as of this month) and even we reported on that…alluding to the very real possibility that he may end up in AEW of all places.
WWE apparently has been making him some pretty impressive offers to stay, but judging by the following quote by Ciampa, it looks like Gargano’s willing to try his hand in another company entirely.
“If tonight is the last time we share a ring together, then I’ve got two words for you…#thankyou.”

It will definitely be interesting to see if Gargano will leave, but seeing that Adam Cole made his departure, it makes sense that others follow suit. Besides, NXT seems to be more interested in cultivating the future and as far as main roster call-ups are concerned for the aging members (still all relatively young, though) of the NXT roster are concerned, we learned that there is no future for said stars on the main roster. Look at the proposed storylines for Cole that we were made aware of; look at what they did to Karrion Kross. Johnny “Wrestling” is very smart and in the end, he will do what’s best for his family and his legacy. Perhaps what is best is a move to AEW in the end.
The possibilities are endless…we can finally get Gargano vs. Bryan Danielson = Dream Match. (We’ve actually seen this match on the indies [see above], but imagine it on a larger scale.)
Daniel Garcia vs. Gargano = Dream Match, and the list goes on and on….
