Darby Allin Provides Injury Update, Vows to Defend AEW’s Honor at Double or Nothin

One Big Thing

Darby Allin, who recently returned to AEW after suffering a broken foot and nose, has replaced the injured Eddie Kingston in Team AEW for the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. Despite not being 100%, Allin is determined to defend AEW’s honor in the upcoming battle.

Key Points

  • Allin suffered a broken foot on the March 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, forcing him to abandon his Mount Everest expedition plans.
  • Later in April, Allin revealed he had also suffered a broken nose after being hit by a bus in New York.
  • Eddie Kingston, originally part of Team AEW, was injured in a Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW Resurgence on May 11.
  • Allin was revealed as Kingston’s replacement on the May 15 episode of Dynamite.

Allin’s Comments

In a post-Dynamite interview, Allin shared his thoughts on his return and upcoming match:

“What a f**king crazy few months. Holy s**t, I thought the worst happened when I broke my foot. Then I was in New York and got hit by a f**king bus. As you can see, I’m not 100%. I still have a little bit of a limp, I got a nose brace on. But f**k, I am going to Anarchy in the Arena because I want to defend AEW’s honor.”

Why It Matters

Allin’s return and inclusion in the Anarchy in the Arena match adds an extra layer of excitement to the already highly-anticipated Double or Nothing event. His determination to compete despite his injuries showcases the passion and dedication of AEW’s roster. The match itself could have significant implications for the ongoing rivalry between AEW and other wrestling promotions.
