According to The Shore News Beacon, the car crash took place at 16523 Laurel Rd, which is a number of minutes away from Jay Briscoe’s home and the first police responders on the scene revealed that there were “multiple calls reporting as many as 4 patients trapped.” The report also notes that the initial responders arrived at 5:18PM local time and confirmed there was an “entrapment and Fire” at the scene and “Command advising 1 critical pediatric, 2nd serious patient. Evaluating two others.”
An update at 5:41PM local time then stated, “EMS advising 2 adult fatalities and 2 critical patients being transported at this time.” It was said that during the time of the initial report at 5:18PM, roadways were closed in the area and moments later it was confirmed by Tony Khan that Jay Brisco is one of the people who passed away.
A report from ABC affiliate WMDT then revealed that the crash left two dead, based on statements from the Delaware State Police, but no other details were provided about the other person who passed away.

Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today.— Tony Khan (@TonyKhan) January 18, 2023
Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We'll do whatever we can to support his family.
Rest In Peace Jamin
