Early Estimated PPV Buys For AEW’s 2023 Full Gear Event

AEW held their 2023 Full Gear Event last November 18th from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, with several huge matchups taking place on the show and a number of big stars competing on the event. All Elite Wrestling’s Full Gear Event was stacked from top to bottom, which was headlined by reigning AEW World Champion MJF putting his AEW World Title on the line against “Switchblade” Jay White.

Immediately following Full Gear, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan took part in a post-show media scrum and indicated that the show will have over 100,000 PPV buys and the show will have more PPV buys than WrestleDream.

Dave Meltzer stated on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the television buys for last month’s Full Gear PPV as of this writing is up 31.2% from last October’s WrestleDream, while the PPV buys will be an estimated 135,000, but the final number could be a little higher or lower. It was also mentioned on the report that the increase from the first week to the second week for TV buys is about 36.3%.
