All Elite Wrestling recently held television tapings for future episodes of Dark at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida and it appears that one of the company’s top Stars suffered an injury and will be out of in-ring action for a few weeks. PWInsider.com reports that AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has revealed that Eddie Kingston was injured during the tapings and will now have to be sidelined.
Due to Eddie Kingston’s injury, a potential match against AJ Gray at GCW’s The Wrld On GCW Event this coming Sunday from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City will no longer be happening and Kingston will no longer be appearing on the show.
Eddie Kingston has recently been involved in a storyline with the Inner Circle’s Chris Jericho, Ortiz and Santana as they work together to battle common enemies Daniel Garcia and 2Point0 (Jeff Parker and Matt Lee), but tensions have also been at an all-time high between Kingston and Jericho and this past Wednesday’s Dynamite ended with the two having a face to face confrontation in the ring, with a brawl almost ensuing.
There’s no word yet on if Eddie Kingston’s injury will prevent him from just competing in the ring or from appearing on AEW TV altogether, but updates will be provided once it has been made available. He previously suffered an injury scare after facing CM Punk at Full Gear, but he was cleared to continue competing. There’s also no word yet on if Eddie Kingston’s injury is a reaggravation of the injury he suffered at AEW Full Gear or if this is a completely new injury, but more details will be provided as it is available.
