Last Friday night’s episode of AEW Rampage had a stacked card from top to bottom and one of the bouts was Eddie Kingston going up against Daniel Garcia Of The Jericho Appreciation Society with all of the other members of The Jericho Appreciation Society as well as Santana and Ortiz banned from ringside.
The match ended with Eddie Kingston picking up the win over Daniel Garcia with his spinning back fist and immediately following the match, Eddie Kingston made it clear that he has his eyes set on top AEW Star Chris Jericho next. Other matches that took place on AEW Rampage last Friday night include Lance Archer beating Serpentico in a one-on-one match, Adam Cole defeating NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii in an Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament Qualifying Match and AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill putting her title on the line against Marina Shafir and coming out of the match still the AEW TBS Champion.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that the match between Eddie Kingston and Daniel Garcia on last Friday night’s AEW Rampage was edited and cut short due to a time issue as the match only lasted for around 13 minutes, but those in attendance during last week’s tapings said that the match actually lasted around 22 minutes. Since AEW only has an hour for Rampage to air on TNT, the match duration had to be cut down and that was simply due to time constraints.
The tapings took place immediately following AEW Dynamite this past Wednesday, April 20, and was then shown on AEW Rampage two days later. There is no word yet on how a timing issue took place exactly as the match was a Singles Match and everyone else was banned from ringside to prevent any wrestler from getting involved, but updates will be provided once it has been made available.
