Former WWE Star Keith Lee Rumored To Sign With AEW Soon

This past November 4th, WWE released a number of talents reportedly due to budget cuts and one of the talents that the WWE released is none other than Keith Lee, who had a really successful career in the company, most especially when he was in NXT as he is a former WWE NXT Champion and a former NXT North American Champion. A few days ago, several former WWE Stars became a free agent from the promotion as their 90-day non-compete clause came to an end, including Keith Lee.

Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that there were rumors of Keith Lee possibly making his way to AEW soon and there were even talks about a spot for Keith Lee in the company. It was also noted that Lee may have already decided what his pro wrestling future is and he may already have come to terms on a deal with All Elite Wrestling.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“We’re told that he’s been talked about for here [AEW], if not has already agreed to a deal here.”

There’s no word yet on if Keith Lee will be competing for AEW anytime soon or if he will be wrestling on the independent scene first as he liked a tweet sent by Beyond Championship Wrestling, who invited him to return to the promotion. Lee competed for Beyond Championship Wrestling in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and wrestled against big stars like Riddle, Donovan Dijak, Josh Briggs, Chris Hero, Joey Janela, Jeff Cobb and Brian Cage. Keith Lee’s final match for the company took place at their Beyond All Day Event on May 27th, 2018, when he lost an Intergender Match to his fiancée, Mia Yim.
