Jeff Cobb A Free Agent Despite Appearing On Dynamite

Last Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite saw AEW World Champion Chris Jericho make a big announcement that this coming Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite will see Jeff Cobb make his AEW in-ring debut when he faces Jon Moxley in a one-on-one match. Commentary then said that Jeff Cobb is Chris Jericho’s “bounty hunter” and “mercenary.”

Later in the evening, Jon Moxley took on Santana in a one-on-one match, which was the main event of the show. Jon Moxley would come out victorious, but was then attacked by the rest of the Inner Circle. AEW World Champion Chris Jericho would then hit Moxley with his Judas Effect finisher then call Jeff Cobb out to the ring. Jeff Cobb would then nail Moxley with his Tour of the Islands finisher. Jeff Cobb would then celebrate with the Inner Circle and the show would then come to a close.

According to PWInsider.com, despite Cobb’s appearance on last Wednesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, he has yet to sign a contract with AEW and is still working as a free agent. It was also reported that Jeff Cobb’s appearance on Dynamite doesn’t mean that AEW now has a working relationship with either ROH or NJPW. Jeff Cobb was directly booked by AEW as he is reportedly free to work in any promotion he chooses to. There is no word yet on if Cobb is looking to sign a contract with AEW or some other wrestling promotion soon, but updates will be provided once it is made available.
