ROH’s Supercard Of Honor Event last April 1st was a stacked card from top to bottom and it even saw a number of huge moments such as Jonathan Gresham becoming the Undisputed ROH World Champion, FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) beating The Briscoes (Mark and Jay Briscoe) to become the ROH World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and Samoa Joe making a surprise appearance and Tully Blanchard introducing his three brand-new clients, who competed in their respective matches and came out as winners in those matches.
One of the matches saw Toa Liona and Kaun make their debut as The Gates of Agony and beat the team of Cheeseburger and Eli Isom in quick fashion. Later in the show, Brian Cage was introduced as the third member of Tully Blanchard Enterprises and he beat Ninja Mack in quick and impressive fashion as well. Fightful Select reported at the time that former ROH Star Kaun has signed with AEW and is technically under contract to AEW, but he is also part of the ROH roster and can show up on either show anytime.
Kaun recently appeared on the Jobber Tears podcast, where he made it perfectly clear that he is under contract to AEW, but he can still work for both AEW and ROH, which he is excited to do.
This is what Kaun said:
“It’s interesting, right, [being on this current journey without Shane Taylor Promotions]? This is a business, so after my time [in the original ROH came to an end], it was like, what’s next in store for me?” “And I took the opportunity with AEW. I look at that as a step up, and then you go there and you find out you’re Ring of Honor, and it’s like, oh, that’s cool… it’s different though. I think for me, I have a contract, so I’m excited.”
Toa Liona, Kaun’s tag partner in the Tully Blanchard Enterprises stable, appeared on the Koffin Radio podcast shortly after ROH’s Supercard Of Honor PPV Event and noted he has signed a deal with AEW, but he is also a part of the ROH roster and is contracted, so he could show up anytime on AEW Dynamite on TBS or AEW Rampage on TNT.
This is what Toa Liona said:
“It’s official, I’m signed with them.” “I’m part of the ROH roster, but I’m contracted, so you never know when I might pop up on TBS or TNT, watch Dynamite and Rampage.”
Prior to Tony Khan purchasing ROH, Kaun was already a part of the ROH roster as a member of the Shane Taylor Promotions stable and they have held the ROH World 6-Man Tag Team Titles on one occasion for a title reign of about 10 months before losing them at Final Battle to Vincent, Bateman and Dutch. Kaun has already competed for All Elite Wrestling on three separate occasions, the first is a Singles loss to Andrade El Idolo on the December 20, 2021 episode of Dark: Elevation, the second is a Singles loss to Frankie Kazarian on the December 28, 2021 episode of Dark and the third appearance is a one-on-one loss to Adam Cole on the January 18, 2022 episode of Dark.
