Kenny Omega Hopes NJPW Stars Will One Day Wrestle In AEW

Ever since the inception of AEW back in January 1st, 2019, the professional wrestling world has hoped and even wondered which promotion, if any, All Elite Wrestling will have a working relationship with.

One of those promotions is none other than NJPW as some of AEW’s biggest stars have wrestled there in the past including Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley.

These three top stars in AEW has held championship titles in both NJPW and AEW, and the pro wrestling community has been wondering for a really long time now if these two promotions can work together and collaborate more than they already have.

Despite top NJPW Stars not having any matches in AEW as of yet, current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley is also the current IWGP United States Champion in NJPW, and one of NJPW’s top star Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared for “Le Champion” Chris Jericho’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, albeit via video.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated, Omega talked about about the working relationship between AEW and NJPW, and he hopes that one day NJPW Stars will wrestle in AEW once the COVID-19 pandemic passes.

This is what Kenny Omega said:

“Now more than ever, with the entire world struggling, we could really make lemonade out of lemons by putting forth our best efforts for a collaborative effort.”

“That’s the great thing about pro wrestling. A lot of people are in this business because they love making people happy. There are a lot of us in wrestling right now that want nothing more than to make fans happy. We get lost in our own fantasy booking talking about how cool it would be to team up, and there are restrictions in the world right now, but maybe down the road.”
