“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega is recognized as one of, if not the greatest pro wrestler in the modern era and possibly even of all time. He has won championship gold in every promotion he has competed in and he was even one of the first signees in AEW as well as one of the most dominant World Champion in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Kenny Omega last competed for AEW at last November’s Full Gear Event, when he lost the AEW World Title to “Hangman” Adam Page and he has since been out of action as he has had injuries that needed to be surgically repaired and he needed to divert his attention on rehabbing those nagging injuries.
Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter a number of weeks back that The Cleaner is currently recovering from an arthroscopic knee surgery and that he will need about ten weeks to fully recover. Meltzer also revealed that not only is Omega recovering from a knee surgery, but he was also set to undergo a surgery to repair his sports hernia at the end of March and he will need 2 months to recover. Aside from the hernia surgery, Kenny Omega also has other issues he is planning to take care of before he finally makes his return to in-ring action.
It has been teased by The Young Bucks that when Kenny Omega is finally healthy, his return match will be against Vikingo as that is the match The Cleaner personally asked for, but Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the bout is still very far from taking place as there isn’t even a return date set for Kenny Omega. Meltzer also noted that the TripleMania Event, where Kenny Omega is looking to make his return isn’t until October and if Omega is healthy then this this definitely the match he will be competing in.
There’s no word yet on when “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega will make his return to in-ring action as he is still recovering from a number of surgeries and injuries, but updates will be provided once it’s been made available. While he is still out of action, Omega is working on a number of things such as their first-ever AEW video game.
