Kenny Omega Reportedly Returns To AEW In A Backstage Capacity

“The Cleaner” Kenny Omega is recognized as one of, if not the greatest pro wrestler in the modern era and possibly even of all time. He has won championship gold in every promotion he has competed in and he was even one of the first signees in AEW as well as one of the most dominant World Champion in the history of All Elite Wrestling. Kenny Omega last competed for AEW at last November’s Full Gear Event, when he lost the AEW World Title to “Hangman” Adam Page and he has since been out of action as he has had injuries that needed to be surgically repaired and he needed to divert his attention on rehabbing those nagging injuries.

Dave Meltzer revealed on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter a number of weeks back that The Cleaner is currently recovering from an arthroscopic knee surgery and that he will need about ten weeks to fully recover. Meltzer also revealed that not only is Omega recovering from a knee surgery, but he was also set to undergo a surgery to repair his sports hernia at the end of March and he will need 2 months to recover. Aside from the hernia surgery, Kenny Omega also has other issues he is planning to take care of before he finally makes his return to in-ring action.

PWInsider.com reports that Kenny Omega has made his return to All Elite Wrestling and has resumed his backstage role with the company as an Executive Vice President. The report also notes that Omega made his return to All Elite Wrestling a few weeks back and some of the things he has been doing backstage includes producing some of the women’s division matches for AEW and producing other AEW content. “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega has also been heavily involved in the company’s inaugural video game, which will reportedly be released in September of this year.

There’s no word yet on when “The Cleaner” Kenny Omega will make his return to in-ring action as he is still recovering from a number of surgeries and injuries, but updates will be provided once it’s been made available.
