Paul Wight made his official AEW debut during last Wednesday night’s Dynamite: The Crossroads special and revealed that a huge “Hall of Fame worthy talent” signing will take place at tonight’s Revolution PPV. Wight then noted that “it is not who you think” and no other details were provided.
AEW President Tony Khan then made an appearance on AEW’s Unrestricted podcast and said that what Paul Wight revealed is absolutely true and that a major star in the wrestling world is going to appear and sign a multi-year contract with AEW tonight at the PPV. Khan also said the new addition is one of his favorite all-time wrestlers, who were revealed to be Kurt Angle, among others.
Speaking of Kurt Angle, he recently posted a video of himself lacing up his wrestling boots and other wrestling attire with “American the Beautiful” playing in the background. The end of the video showed Kurt Angle looking at the camera, and the words “To Be Continued…” were displayed.
Kurt Angle’s video got fans speculating that he will be the major AEW signing taking place tonight at the Revolution PPV as it appears that he is teasing an in-ring return. Kurt’s last match for WWE took place at WrestleMania 35, losing to Baron Corbin. Kurt Angle then transitioned into being a backstage producer.
Angle revealed on his podcast that he wasn’t too happy with how things ended for his retirement match with Baron Corbin and he was dealing with a leg injury. Angle is no longer under contract with WWE as he was released by the company back in April of 2020 as part of their company-wide cuts brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
