AEW has officially introduced their AEW World Trios Championships on a recent episode of AEW Dynamite and it was announced that a tournament will be held to crown the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions, with the finals taking place at the All Out PPV Event on Sunday, September 4th in Chicago. Last night on AEW Dynamite, it was announced that the AEW Trios Championship Tournament will be kicking off next week on AEW Dynamite and the first match will feature Andrade El Idolo, RUSH and Dragon Lee taking on The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) and their mystery partner.
During last week’s AEW Dynamite, “Hangman” Adam Page came to the aid of Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson when they were being decimated by Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly and it seems that he buried the hatchet and are friends once again, so it’s possible that he will be the person teaming with them next week, but there has been speculations that Kenny Omega will return to in-ring action and he will be their mystery partner as Hangman Page told The Young Bucks during last night’s episode of Dynamite that he can’t team with them next week because he will be supporting The Dark Order.
Dave Meltzer reported on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that the reason The Young Bucks is not slated to battle FTR at All Out for their titles is AEW wanted them to be involved with either Hangman Page or the returning Kenny Omega and with All Out just a number of weeks away it is possible that Omega makes his return to action next week. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful also reported that Omega has been in talks about possibly competing in a match at All Out.
