Mark Sterling Files To Trademark His Own Ring Name

Last June 22nd, Mark Sterling, the on-screen manager of AEW Star Jade Cargill, filed to trademark his own “Mark Sterling” wrestling name with the USPTO (the United States Patent and Trademark Office) for entertainment services. Mark Sterling (real name: Mark Ptasnik) had the trademark filing done through Attorney Michael E. Dockins, who has helped a number of AEW talents file their trademarks in the past as well.

During the time that he was still an active in-ring competitor, Mark Sterling wrestler for promotions such as ROH and other indie promotions. Sterling had his last match in 2019 prior to appearing on AEW Dynamite in 2020 as MJF‘s lawyer. This past May, Sterling would then start his role as the manager of AEW Star Jade Cargill.

“Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling, sports entertainment, and podcast personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestling, sports entertainment, and podcast personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestling, sports entertainment, and podcast personality in the field of professional wrestling, sports entertainment, podcasting, and action figures for entertainment purposes.”
