AEW Star Marko Stunt, who is one of the company’s most beloved talent as well as one of the company’s fastest rising and brightest stars, made his AEW debut at the first-ever Double Or Nothing PPV on May 25th, 2019. He last competed for AEW on the October 4 episode of Dark: Elevation, when he teamed with Fuego del Sol for a lost to The Pinnacle’s Shawn Spears and Wardlow. Prior to that, Marko Stunt faced Serpentico in Singles action on the October 5 episode of Dark and came out of the match on the losing end.
Dave Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Stunt is still under contract to AEW and he is still being paid by the company and unlike WWE, who does mass releases, All Elite Wrestling is trying to be different by only releasing talents for disciplinary reasons, but the company will reportedly not renew contracts of talents who’s deals are coming up if they aren’t being used. It was also noted that this doesn’t necessarily mean AEW will not renew Marko Stunt’s deal once it expires, but it was pointed out that Stunt not being there when Jurassic Express won the AEW World Tag Team Titles last Wednesday night from The Lucha Brothers was really significant and that could be a contributing factor to whether or not they re-sign him.
Speaking of Marko Stunt, he recently took to his Twitter and revealed that he is trying to be part of the new season of NBC’s The Voice. Stunt said that he is really excited to be taking this journey and that things have been weird lately, but seeing all the fans support him is amazing.
