News On How Aleister Black Was Able To Appear On Dynamite

This past Wednesday’s Road Rager edition of Dynamite saw former WWE Superstar Aleister Black (Malakai Black) make his highly-anticipated All Elite Wrestling debut when the lights went out and he appeared in the middle of the ring. Black would then take both Arn Anderson and Cody Rhodes out by hitting his black mass kick, possibly setting up a feud with top AEW Star Cody Rhodes.

Black, who is most popularly known as Tommy End in the independent scene, was released by WWE on June 2nd and when a WWE main roster talent is released by the WWE, that talent is typically under a 90-day non-compete clause with the WWE, which in Black’s case, was set to expire on Tuesday, August 31st.

According to PWInsider.com, Black was able to appear on Dynamite this past Wednesday night due to WWE failing to update his contract when he was moved from the NXT roster to the main roster two years ago as an NXT Star typically has a standard 30-day non-compete clause, so it was due to a clerical error. Since WWE failed to update Black’s contract, he had the liberty to sign or make an appearance for any pro wrestling promotion he wanted to, which is what he did this past Wednesday night on Dynamite.
