News On Top AEW Stars Signing New Contracts After It Expires

Ever since the inception of AEW back in January of 2019, several top talents have signed and remained with the company, including The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson), who as mentioned by Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter signed a two-year contract extension with the promotion, which will start on January 1st, 2022 and will keep them with the company until 2024.

Meltzer noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) originally signed three-year deals with the company that began on January 1st, 2019 and those deals included options for them to re-sign for two more years if they wanted to and a raise for each year as well as if AEW President and CEO Tony Khan wanted to re-sign them, which he did.

Dave Meltzer also noted that stars like Kenny Omega, Cody Rhodes, Brandi Rhodes, “Hangman” Adam Page, and Chris Jericho would fall in the same category as The Young Bucks since they all signed three-year contracts with the promotion and just like Matt and Nick Jackson, Tony Khan has the option to re-sign them if he wanted to.

There is no word yet on if these AEW Originals have had their contracts renewed, but it was confirmed that many of them already have and it is expected that all of their contracts will be renewed soon.
