Omega On Anniversary Matches Against Top NJPW Star Naito

All Elite Wrestling Executive Vice President, who is one-half of the current AEW World Tag Team Champions, Kenny Omega, recently took to his Twitter to comment on both 2016 and 2017 G1 Climax Matches, where he faced top NJPW Star Tetsuya Naito in the finals. Omega won his two matches against Naito, earning an IWGP Heavyweight Title Match at WrestleKingdom.

This is what Kenny Omega said on his 2016 G1 Climax Match:

“Real cool story about this match that I’d love to tell one day. Long story short, it had much more effect on my NJPW career than some would think. Or know. Or think they know.”

This is what Kenny Omega said on his 2017 G1 Climax Match:

“I needed knee surgery and had terrible vertigo since the Okada match the night before. Prayed to anyone willing to listen and somehow got through it. Very proud of this performance. Maybe the right man won.”
