People Close To CM Punk Unhappy The Elite Mocked Him On AEW Dynamite

Following their return at AEW’s Full Gear PPV, The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) were in Trios action once again on this past Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite in Chicago, Illinois, the hometown of former AEW World Champion CM Punk, when they went up against the reigning AEW World Trios Champions Death Triangle (PAC, Penta El Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) in match 2 of the Best Of 7 Series.

Due to this past Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite being in Chicago, The Elite received a mixed reaction from the live crowd in attendance, with some fans chanting “CM Punk” and others chanting what sounded like “F**k The Elite,” but there were also other fans that chanted “F**k CM Punk.” The Elite received audible boos and scattered cheers throughout the match and Omega would even get a huge reaction after he hitting PAC with the GTS, a move synonymous with CM Punk.

During the match, Matt Jackson also mocked how CM Punk fell down at the Double Or Nothing Event while trying Hangman’s Buckshot Lariat and Kenny Omega bit PAC’s arm, which is a shot at Ace Steel possibly biting him at the post-AEW All Out media scrum brawl. It was speculated that something was worked out between CM Punk and The Elite and this will all be used as part of their storyline going forward, but that is apparently not the case.

Dave Meltzer said on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that people close to CM Punk were not happy with what transpired during the Trios Match.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“I know that there’s people close to CM Punk that boy, were they not happy with that 6-man tag match.”
