Possible Good News On The AEW Futures Of CM Punk And The Elite

There is a good chance that former AEW World Champion CM Punk and inaugural AEW World Trios Champions The Elite (Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks) could be making their returns to the company soon as Tony Schiavone acknowledged the fact that Kenny Omega, Matt and Nick were crowned the first-ever AEW World Trios Champions at the All Out PPV Event prior to Death Triangle’s title defense against Best Friends and Orange Cassidy on this past Tuesday night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, but before Tuesday there was no mention of The Elite.

This past Tuesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite also saw CM Punk featured on a video package honoring the legacy of the ROH World Championship, which was aired before Chris Jericho defended the title against Dalton Castle. This is the first time Punk was shown on AEW TV since the backstage brawl at the post-AEW All Out media scrum with The Elite.

During the time that AEW President Tony Khan stripped CM Punk of the AEW World Title and The Elite of the AEW World Trios Titles, he didn’t even mention them, but rather only the matchups that would take place to crown new champions. AEW CEO Tony Khan has refrained from discussing the backstage brawl due to the ongoing investigation on the incident.
