Road Dogg Reveals He Wants To Work A Backstage Role With AEW

WWE Hall of Famer “Road Dogg” Brian James, who worked with a number of talent from WWE’s NXT prior to being released from his contract with the promotion earlier this year, recently made an appearance on an episode of “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” and revealed that even though he went to work elsewhere, he still wanted to keep a good relationship with the WWE. The WWE Hall of Famer also revealed that he would love to work a backstage role with AEW, most especially due to the fact that most of the talent in AEW are from NXT and he has worked with them in the past.

This is what “Road Dogg” Brian James said:

“I wanted to keep my relationship with [WWE] really good even if I went somewhere else to work.” “Which, I’d love to do that. I’d love to work with promo guys backstage at AEW because it’s just new talent — Well, half of them are NXT talent I’ve worked with in the past, but I would love to do something challenging, you know what I mean?”

Road Dogg also talked about whether or not he has already been backstage at AEW especially since he’s now a free agent.

This is what “Road Dogg” Brian James said:

“I have not.” “I have not been there at all. I was looking forward to the opportunity in Vegas, but I ended up canceling my show out there, so I didn’t end up going.”

WWE Hall of Famer Road Dogg began working behind the scenes for the WWE in 2011, when he was hired as a Producer. He would then eventually become a Lead Writer for WWE SmackDown before stepping back from the role and joining Triple H on the NXT brand prior to his release from the company.
