Rumor On Tessa Blanchard Close To Signing With AEW Not True

Back in June of last year, one of IMPACT Wrestling’s biggest star Tessa Blanchard was released by the company and has remained one of the biggest free agents in all of pro wrestling since.

According to a number of rumors and speculations, AEW was interested in signing Tessa to a contract, however, it was noted by Dave Meltzer on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it seems like AEW has decided “not to pursue” Blanchard.

According to Meltzer, when AEW officials were discussing Tessa Blanchard’s name as one of the talents to bring in to All Elite Wrestling and sign, despite the value she could bring and the star power she could add in the women’s division, the decision was made to not to try and pursue her.

It was then reported by SEScoops sometime last week that Tessa Blanchard and her husband Daga were in serious talks to sign with AEW. It was even noted that negotiations have been taking place for over a month and that one source close to the situation told them that it’s “all but a formality” until they are signed.

Dave Meltzer then refuted those reports on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio that Daga and Tessa Blanchard are not actually in talks with AEW and that there is nothing to it.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“Oh, I do have to make mention before we go that AEW is not negotiating with Tessa Blanchard. I know people keep asking me about this, and in fact, there is nothing to it. So that’s the deal.”
