All Elite Wrestling Star “The Spanish God” Sammy Guevara became the Undisputed AEW TNT Champion, when he defeated “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes in a Ladder Match on the January 26th episode of AEW Dynamite. This past Wednesday night’s episode of Dynamite saw The Spanish God defend his championship against Darby Allin and came out of the match still the Undisputed AEW TNT Champion due to Andrade El Idolo’s unwanted help, but despite securing the huge win, Guevara still suffered a scratched cornea.
Sammy Guevara took to his Twitter and commented on the injury, while also praising his opponent Darby Allin, who he came into the company with together 3 years back. Guevara said they came into AEW three years ago with everything to prove and in their time with the company so far, they have shown that he and Darby not only belong in AEW, but they are AEW. Guevara first won the AEW TNT Title, when he beat Miro and handed Miro his fist-ever AEW loss on the September 29th, 2021 episode of Dynamite. He would then lose the AEW TNT Title to Cody Rhodes this past December before winning it back last January. He is currently on his second reign with the AEW TNT Championship.
