Several Plans Had To Be Changed By AEW During Recent Tapings

All Elite Wrestling usually tapes their upcoming Friday’s episode of AEW Rampage and Monday’s episode of AEW Dark: Elevation during the previous Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite and this past week was no different. During the taping of the Nyla Rose vs. Skye Blue Match, which was set to be a match for Monday’s AEW Dark: Elevation, there were production issues and AEW President Tony Khan had to call an audible as the power went out and the matchup couldn’t be taped so instead, the matchup was announced as a match for the live fans in attendance.

A second production issue then happened during the matchup between Max Caster and Cheeseburger as the lights would go out around the area of the entrance ramp and commentary table and despite the matchup not being taped, it was still able to come to an end.

Dave Meltzer spoke about the power issues AEW had on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program and noted that they got all the issues sorted out by 8PM, which was right before AEW Dynamite and there was no problem whatsoever with Dynamite.

This is what Dave Meltzer said:

“Did you know they had a power failure? Did you hear about that? Okay, so this was actually before the show started. Max Caster was wrestling Cheeseburger and Cheeseburger was very over, which was the second time they used Cheeseburger and he was very over both times. And then the entrance and the announcing place all of a sudden went dark. They did the match, Max Caster won, then they did another match that they announced, which was Skye Blue and Nyla Rose. They just said, ‘This match is only for you fans in the arena and it will never air,’ because they couldn’t tape it because they had a power failure. They got the thing fixed by eight o’clock and there was no problem with Dynamite.”
