Shawn Spears Turns Heel At Fyter Fest, Nails Cody With Chair

It was during this past Saturday night’s AEW Fyter Fest that we saw Shawn Spears show up after a grueling 20-Minute time limit draw between Cody Rhodes & Darby Allin, turn heel on Cody Rhodes and nail him on the back of his head with a steel chair. After the gruesome attack, Shawn Spears would just turn his back on Cody Rhodes and leave through the crowd like nothing happened.

Due to Shawn Spears’ hideous attack on Cody Rhodes, Rhodes bled profusely, but All Elite Wrestling noted that Rhodes had no concussion and it took up to 12 staples to close up the wound. The motivation behind this gruesome attack was speculated to be from Cody Rhodes saying that Shawn Spears would be a good “player/coach,” and a “great hand” in the ring, but not a star.

Below is the full comments made by Cody Rhodes on Shawn Spears along with a tweet recently sent out by Shawn Spears which includes the comments made by Cody Rhodes about him:

“He could potentially be a player/coach, eventually a coach.” “Great for the young guys, and he’s a great hand. A utility guy, a good worker — NOT a star.”
