All Elite Wrestling will be holding their Blood & Guts episode of Dynamite on Wednesday, July 19 from inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, with the show featuring the Blood & Guts Match between The Elite and The Blackpool Combat Club, but not all members of each group will be competing in the match and representing their factions as some of them are not cleared to compete due to an injury and other members have obligations outside of AEW to tend to.
According to Fightful Select, talents that they have spoken with this week are of the belief that the person joining The Elite in the upcoming Blood & Guts Matchup is none other top free agent and former NJPW Star Kota Ibushi, who has noted in his past interviews that he has been wanting to go to AEW and him going to the promotion is his top priority. Immediately following this past Wednesday night’s AEW Rampage tapings, top AEW Star and AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega cut a promo and hinted at who The Elite’s partner will be in the Blood & Guts Match when he said this person cares about him.
Over the past few weeks, Ibushi has reduced media obligations and he even mentioned that his schedule will be picking up in the near future, with one source even revealing that Ibushi is planning to work the upcoming AEW show, but some talent in AEW and NJPW have wondered in the past whether Ibushi being involved with All Elite Wrestling would strain AEW’s working relationship with NJPW due to the way he left NJPW, though Ibushi has claimed that those issues have been resolved with a contract offer being made from NJPW.
