AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa, who made her pro wrestling debut in 2014 and signed with All Elite Wrestling on July 22, 2021, recently spoke with Forbes on when she plans to retire from in-ring competition. According to Thunder Rosa, she can wrestle at the pace she currently is at for another 3 or 4 years, but she doesn’t want to compete after the age of 45 as she also wants to take care of her body.
This is what Thunder Rosa said:
“I’m going to wrestle as long as possible, but I don’t think I want to be wrestling after I’m 45. I know some of my peers at that age and they’re still wrestling. I personally don’t want to because it’s very taxing on your body.” “I can wrestle to the caliber, to the level that I’ve been wrestling at, for another three to four years… But I also have to scale back and take care of my body.”
Thunder Rosa also talked about how she was in so much pain for a really long time, but now she is 100 percent in top condition despite her grueling schedule.
This is what Thunder Rosa said:
“My body feels 100 percent right now. I cannot tell you, for so long, I was in so much pain because I was wrestling so much. This schedule that we have, if you have a family, it’s really good because you get to spend more time with your family unless you’re like me, and you’re a workaholic and you’re always working.”
Rosa made her AEW debut on the August 22, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite, when she cut a promo on then-AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida and challenged her to a title match at the All Out PPV Event. Rosa then made her AEW in-ring debut on the September 2, 2020 episode of AEW Dynamite, when she faced and defeated Serena Deeb in Women’s Division Singles action. She captured the AEW Women’s World Title at the St. Patrick’s Day Slam episode of AEW Dynamite on March 16, when she defeated Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D in a Steel Cage Match, which took place in her hometown of San Antonio, Texas. She will put her AEW Women’s World Title on the line against Serena Deeb at the upcoming Double or Nothing PPV.
