Thunder Rosa To Relinquish Warrior Wrestling Women’s Title

The main event of last Wednesday’s St Patrick’s Day Slam episode of Dynamite saw a Steel Cage Matchup take place between Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Thunder Rosa in Rosa’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas, with the AEW Women’s World Championship on the line. Thunder Rosa defeated Britt Baker and walked out as the brand-new AEW Women’s World Champion.

A couple of days following Thunder’s huge title win, the brand-new AEW Women’s World Champion took to her Twitter and revealed that she will be relinquishing her Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship on Saturday, April 23rd as she can no longer serve as the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion due to some “really huge commitments” that are coming in her career.

Thunder Rosa also thanked every single person in Warrior Wrestling for giving her this opportunity to represent women’s wrestling and the entire company and she said that it’s been an honor as a wrestler to represent the championship and Warrior Wrestling with honor and pride.

This is what Thunder Rosa said:

“It’s been an honor to serve you as the Women’s Champion here at Warrior Wrestling. From the bottom of my heart, its really hard to tell you that unfortunately due to some really huge commitments that are coming in my career, I will no longer be able to serve you as your champion.”

“I want to thank absolutely everyone from top to bottom in this organization for giving me the opportunity to represent women’s wrestling and the entire company. It’s been an honor as a wrestler to represent this championship and this company with honor and pride. So for the next person who will become the next women’s champion, I wish you the best and I hope you represent the company just as well or even better than I did. Thank you very much, everyone. I love you very much.”

Thunder Rosa last defended her Warrior Wrestling Women’s Title at Warrior Wrestling 20 against Athena (F.K.A. Ember Moon in the WWE) and AEW Star Skye Blue in a Three-Way Matchup and walked out still the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Champion.
