During last Wednesday night’s Fight For The Fallen episode of Dynamite, a major announcement was made that the company will be heading to the United Center in Chicago on Friday, August 20th for the First Dance special episode of AEW Rampage. This could potentially be one of AEW’s biggest shows in company history as it has been speculated that CM Punk could make his AEW debut on the show.
The United Center in Chicago, where the show will be held, can seat to at least 23,000 fans, so it is expected that something big will happen and since Chicago is the hometown of CM Punk, despite nothing being confirmed yet and Darby Allin denying that he was referring to Punk last Wednesday night on the Fight For The Fallen episode of Dynamite when he said the phrase “Best in the World,” the signs still point to Punk making his AEW debut on the show.
Pre-sale tickets for the First Dance special episode of AEW Rampage went on sale last Friday, July 30 at 11AM ET and the tickets went by really fast that AEW reportedly sold more than 12,000 tickets, and that made it easier for tickets to sell out during the official sale to the general public on Monday, August 2 as according to WrestleTix tickets for the First Dance special episode of AEW Rampage at the United Center in Chicago sold out in just about 5 minutes.
The First Dance special episode of AEW Rampage will be the second episode of the show following their debut episode on Friday, August 13th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. As of this writing, the company has yet to comment on selling out the United Center.
