AEW President and CEO Tony Khan, who is now also the owner of ROH, recently made an appearance on the Strong Style YouTube show, where he discussed how he is currently in talks with the ROH Women’s World Champion Deonna Purrazzo, who is at this moment still under contract with IMPACT Wrestling and how he did not have an agreement in place to buy ROH when she won the title in IMPACT Wrestling and how he’s also currently in talks with IMPACT Wrestling Executive Scott D’Amore as he knows they have a PPV the same night as the ROH Supercard Of Honor PPV Event and he would love for Purrazzo to compete at ROH’s Event as well, but he doesn’t want to put her in a tough position of competing twice on the very same night.
This is what Tony Khan said:
“When Deonna won the Ring of Honor title, when they booked that match, I did not have an agreement in place to buy Ring of Honor yet and was not booking the matches.” “With them having a show the night of our pay-per-view, I don’t know how it’s going to work out. Scott [D’Amore] and I are still talking about that because I completely respect their position that they have an event that night too.”
Deonna Purrazzo, who is the AAA Reina de Reinas Champion and the ROH Women’s World Champion, will put either of her titles on the line in a Champ-Champ Challenge at IMPACT Wrestling’s upcoming Multiverse of Matches Event on Friday, April 1st against an opponent that has yet to be determined. Purrazzo has stated in the past that she was interested in competing for AEW before she joined IMPACT Wrestling.
