This past Tuesday night’s episode of IMPACT Wrestling saw AEW President and CEO Tony Khan, along with AEW announcer Tony Schiavone be featured in yet another “paid ad” segment. During the segment, we saw Tony Khan first welcome IMPACT Wrestling to 2021 and congratulate them on a great 2020.
Tony Khan then said that because of him revenue came into IMPACT Wrestling and they had the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega grace their show with his presence.
Khan also said that they get to watch a real wrestling show whenever Dynamite is on and that they have a huge card. The AEW President and CEO then told Tony Schiavone to please tell IMPACT Wrestling how it is done.
This is what Tony Khan said:
“Welcome to 2021, Impact Wrestling.” “Congratulations on a great 2020. Let’s look at all the great things that happened to you last year – you had these paid ads from me, revenue coming in from me, you had the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega grace your show with his presence because I allowed it, and he brought the greatest title in all of sports with him, and tomorrow night you get to watch a real wrestling show. AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash Night 2. We have a huge card. Tony, please tell them how it’s done.”
Tony Khan then thanked Don Callis for having IMPACT World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers appear on Dynamite last week, but ultimately took shots at them by saying he’s not sure what’s so good about them and actually, he doesn’t even think they are really brothers, but they do have a following.
This is what Tony Khan said:
“Don, it was great for The Good Brothers to show up on AEW Dynamite.” “I really enjoyed it. I’m not sure what’s so good about them and actually, I don’t even think they’re really brothers, but they have a following, so Impact Wrestling congratulations, because you did at least one thing right in 2020. So, Impact Wrestling, feel free to send The Good Brothers, Don Callis, anybody you want, tomorrow night, AEW Dynamite New Year’s Smash Night 2.”
Schiavone then ended the “paid ad” segment by taking a shot at AXS TV when he said that Dynamite will be airing on a “real network.”
