Tony Khan Talks Holding A Future AEW Event In Japan

Ever since All Elite Wrestling was established back on January 1, 2019, they have been a huge success all over United States and plans are in place for the promotion to hold future events in Canada. This coming Sunday, AEW and NJPW will be holding their joint Forbidden Door Event inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, but it looks like this will not be the only event AEW and NJPW will collaborate in.

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently had a conversation with Tokyo Sports on the company possibly holding a future event or tournament in Japan. According to Khan, he has never held a tournament in a different country such as Japan, but he would really like to try to and if he does, then he will want to invite a lot of Japanese wrestlers. Khan also said Japan is definitely one of the countries in his list where he would like to hold a future AEW event or tournament.

This is what Tony Khan said:

“I haven’t held a tournament in another country yet, but I would like to try to deliver AEW to the world.” “Of course, I want to hold a tournament in Japan, and if I do, I would like to invite a lot of Japanese wrestlers. Japan is definitely included in the list of countries where we want to have an AEW tournament.”

Tony Khan also spoke about how Japan is the most valuable market in the world for the company and how All Elite Wrestling will be able to build a good fan base in the country.

This is what Tony Khan said:

“I think Japan is the most valuable market in the world for AEW.” “There are so many Japanese fans, smart and passionate. AEW will be able to build a good fan base.”
