WWE recently announced that starting October 2024 NXT will be airing its weekly programming on the CW Network, which comes shortly after it was revealed that the NWA signed a pair of deals with the CW to have their Powerrr show and another reality show about the promotion air on the station, but a moment that was extremely controversial took place during the companyβs Samhain PPV and it put NWAβs TV deal with the CW in jeopardy.
According to Nick Hausman of Haus Of Wrestling, a top CW executive approached AEW President Tony Khan at the LA Forum in June 2022 about possibly bringing ROH programming to the network, but itβs unclear whether this happened prior to the talks between the CW and the NWA and the talks between the WWE and the CW.
It was also mentioned on the report that Khan decided not to go forward with the talks because he did not want to seriously entertain new TV deals for ROH until AEW TV rights were in play next year as he feels that by waiting, he will have more options and leverage in the marketplace. Hausman also stated that the CW network is open to having multiple wrestling companies on their network, with two of them being promotions outside of WWE and the NWA.
