It was previously reported that AEW Star Chris Jericho and his band Fozzy was supposed to have a show this past Friday night from the Swansea Sin City in Swansea, Wales, but the show was nixed due to The Demo God being hospitalized because of a non-COVID-19 related health issue that can be treated. Hours later, the venue where Fozzy’s show was supposed to take place posted a message from the band, saying that Chris Jericho was checked into a hospital by doctors due to a non-COVID-19 related health issue, which can and will be treated, but Fozzy’s show in Swansea, Wales has been cancelled and tickets will be refunded.
Dave Meltzer then noted on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Le Champion had talked to them and noted he is feeling good and the hospital just wanted to observe him overnight and that he is in the right place as what he had was not serious and non-COVID-19 related. Jericho’s band Fozzy was set to have a show in Nottingham on Saturday, December 11, but an announcement was made via the band’s official Twitter account that their scheduled performance on December 11th was canceled as well due to Chris Jericho’s hospitalization.
On the other side of Jericho’s hospitalization, it seems that The Demo God has been released from the hospital and that he is mobile and active once again as the AEW Star recently took to his Twitter and posted a picture of himself with a smile on his face and showing he is walking the streets of the UK, with the caption, “Back on the streets.”
There’s no word yet on if the last stop on Fozzy’s tour, which is set to happen in London, will still push through as no updates have been provided yet. Chris last appeared for All Elite Wrestling on the December 1st Dynamite episode, where he was attacked by 2point0 (Matt Lee and Jeff Parker) and Daniel Garcia as a way to remove him from AEW TV due to Fozzy’s 12-date “Save The World” tour in the UK. The Demo God last wrestled for AEW at the company’s Full Gear PPV last November 13, when The Inner Circle defeated Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky and American Top Team in a 10-Man Street Fight.
