Top AEW Star Expected To Be Out Of Action For A While

Top All Elite Wrestling Star Adam Cole had been on the sidelines since defeating ROH World Television Champion Samoa Joe in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament at Double or Nothing in late May. He would take a few weeks off to heal up from his injuries before making his in-ring return at Forbidden Door, where he competed in a 4-Way Match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.

The match ended with Jay White successfully retaining his IWGP World Heavyweight Title against NJPW’s Kazuchika Okada, “Hangman” Adam Page and Adam Cole, but the title match had an odd finish as Cole was pinned by Jay White after Okada attempted to hit the rainmaker on Cole, who collapsed. Jay White then hit the bladerunner on Okada before getting the 1-2-3 on Cole.

There were reports that Cole suffered a very serious concussion at last month’s Forbidden Door and an injury of that sort does not have a fixed timeframe of when the wrestler can make their return as the wrestler can be medically cleared anytime. Dave Meltzer reported on a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio Program that Cole is expected to be out of action for a while due to the concussion he suffered at the Forbidden Door Event, but he did not provide an exact date or any estimate of exactly how long that will be.
