Night one of AEW Dynamiteâs Fyter Fest Special saw AEW Star Trentâs mom, Sue, make a cameo when she drove her sonâs team, Best Friends, in her van and dropped them off in the arena. Trentâs mom, Sue, was recently interviewed by Sports Illustrated on the segment.
This is what Trentâs mom said:
âI loved having that moment with my son.â âI used to drive him everywhere. He first started wrestling in this old garage when he was only 15. It was an hour from where we lived, but he was so insistent on going. The other kids were 19 and 20, so there was a big age difference, but he said, âIâve got to do this,â so I said OK.â
Trentâs mom, Sue, then talked about her always believing that Trent could make a career in pro wrestling due to his dedication and that she was hoping Trent would be this successful and happy in his career.
This is what Trentâs mom said:
I always believed he could turn this into a career because of his dedication.â âThere would be nights when he couldnât come to dinner on time because he was watching WWE. Heâd be watching something in slow-mo, studying a wrestlerâs move, and heâd call to me and say, âIâll be right there! This is important!â He was 24-7 with wrestling. I was hoping he would be this successful and happy in his career.â
Trentâs mom, Sue, then revealed that it was actually Trentâs idea for her to drop them off at Fyter Fest for their entrance. She also said that she was nervous, but at the same time when it was done, she was excited.
This is what Trentâs mom said:
âThis was Gregâs idea.â âHe texted me last week and said, âHey Ma, how would you like to drive us into the ring on TV?â And I was like, âWhat?â He needed to check to make sure it was OK. Once he found out that it was, I said, âSure, why not.â So he flew into Myrtle Beach, and we drove into Jacksonville together. It was so much fun. I was so, so nervous. At the same time, when it was done, I was so, so excited. Everyone said it went well. I never thought, after all those car rides, weâd ever have something like this happen. It was such a special, important moment, and it was such a good feeling to be able to share it with my Greggy.â
Trent then took to Twitter and commented on Sports Illustrated interviewing his mom, which you can check out below:
