Update On CM Punk Following His Recent Surprise Return

The main event of this past Wednesday’s Quake By The Lake AEW Dynamite saw Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley successfully defend his title against Chris Jericho. After the match, the current reigning AEW World Champion CM Punk, who had been out of in-ring action since May due to a broken foot, made a surprise return when he had a stare-down with the current Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Punk would even jump around on his previously injured foot to show that he has fully recovered.

PWInsider.com reports that CM Punk’s injury was really bad over the past couple of months and he only stopped using his walking boot a few days back. It was also revealed on the report that Punk is still rehabbing his foot and he mentioned to several AEW officials that he was still in significant pain as soon as a few weeks ago. AEW World Champion CM Punk is reportedly not expected to wrestle until AEW’s upcoming All Out PPV Event on Sunday, September 4th in his hometown of Chicago, but there has been no word yet from AEW that he will compete. Commentary even made it clear during last Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite that CM Punk is not officially cleared yet.
