WWE And FOX To Build And Promote NXT Off Of AEW TV Battle

It was reported on a recent edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that it was agreed about a month or two ago between WWE and FOX that NXT will be moved to FS1 starting in October. The show will be airing from 8PM – 10PM ET during Wednesday nights as a direct competition to AEW airing on TNT, but the announcement was only made following the news of when AEW will be premiering on TNT.

The current plan is for the NXT show to run for two hours as opposed to its current schedule of one hour. There is also a plan to run the show live as opposed to the show being taped then being aired on a tape delay while also featuring main roster Stars from time to time.

There is no word yet on if NXT will continue to take place at Full Sail University or if the show will move from city to city as how it is happening with Monday Night RAW and SmackDown LIVE, but more information will be provided once it is made available.

NXT’s move to FS1 will reportedly be heavily advertised by FOX once SmackDown LIVE airs on the network. The move may also be advertised on Monday Night RAW since the battle between WWE and AEW will be much more heated up this coming October when both NXT on FS1 and AEW on TNT premieres.
