AEW Dynamite Results (02/05): Huntsville, Alabama

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with an intro video.

Commentary then welcomes us to the show.

The Inner Circle then make their way out and join the commentary booth for the first match of the evening.

Jon Moxley def. Ortiz via pinfall with Paradigm Shift. After the match, Moxley stares over at Jericho at commentary, but Santana attacks him from behind. Moxley then hits a paradigm shift on Santana to clear him out. Moxley then holds up the key to Chris Jericho’s Ford GT. Moxley then looks at Jericho and says “eye for an eye!” Moxley then jabs Santana’s eye with the key before Hager and Guevara can get to the ring. Moxley then heads off through the crowd and taunts Jericho a bit more as medical personnel checks on Santana.

Commentary then hypes up the rest of the show.

Best Friends then make their entrance alongside Orange Cassidy to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the Tag Team Match between Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) vs. SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) is underway.

SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) def. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) via pinfall with a Yoshi Tonic from Frankie Kazarian on Chuck Taylor. After the match, The Dark Order minions and Stu Grayson hit the ring and attack both teams. Evil Uno then slowly makes his way to the ring as his group sends the other teams out to the floor. The Dark Order then line up and do their taunt, but Orange Cassidy gets into the ring. Evil Uno then offers a mask up to Orange Cassidy, but he passes it and immediately gets attacked by the group. Christopher Daniels then runs out and tells them to fight him. The Dark Order then ends up sliding out of the ring. Evil Uno then talks in Stu Grayson’s ear as Christopher Daniels yells at the group. The Dark Order then exit the ringside area.

We then get a video package on Cody Rhodes getting whipped later on in the broadcast plus commentary from Taz about how hard it’s gonna be to watch. Taz says it also validates how badly Cody Rhodes wants to get his hands on MJF at Revolution.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. then makes her entrance as she will be in action right after the commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the Women’s Division Singles Match between Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. vs. Yuka Sakazaki is underway.

Yuka Sakazaki def. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. via pinfall with a crucifix pin. After the match, Baker gets the ring bell and whacks Sakazaki over the back with it. Baker then goes to swing the bell again, but Aubrey Edwards takes it away. Baker then puts Yuka’s mouth around the bottom rope and stomps her head down on it. Blood is coming out of Yuka’s mouth and Baker has broken one of Yuka’s teeth. Baker then puts the lockjaw on Yuka once again. Aubrey Edwards then gets Baker to break the hold and checks on Yuka.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

The Butcher and The Blade (Andy Williams and Pepper Parks) and The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) def. The Elite (“Hangman” Adam Page, Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) via pinfall with a double-stomp assisted package piledriver from The Lucha Brothers on “Hangman” Adam Page. After the match, Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson argue with “Hangman” Adam Page. Kenny Omega then tries to play peacemaker as Hangman Page bounces from the ring (looking for a beer) and heads out through the crowd.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Tony Schiavone is in the ring with Kenny Omega, but we cut to the backstage area with PAC standing with Lexy Nair and Riho. PAC tells Lexy to get out and then threatens Riho, just asking Omega for his match. Omega then instantly says PAC has got his match, but no date for the match is given. PAC then says that he wouldn’t ever put his hands on a woman. PAC then says, “I may be a bastard, but I’m not a beast.” Nyla Rose then charges out and powerbombs Riho through a table. She then tells Riho next week, she is coming after her. Commentary then says that it will be a match for Riho’s AEW Women’s Title.

We then get a Darby Allin video wherein he shoots a flamethrower at cutouts of Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara.

Kip Sabian then makes his entrance to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the Singles Match between “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela vs. Kip Sabian is underway.

Kip Sabian def. “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela via pinfall with a handful of tights.

We head backstage where Alex Marvez tries to talk with The Inner Circle. Jericho takes the mic and kicks him out. Jericho then wonders what kind of trash would spike a man in the eye. Jericho then says that Moxley is going to pay for what he did. Santana then takes the mic and says that he has had a bad month, but now he is going to bring out something that Moxley has never seen. Santana then says that next week he wants a match with Moxley.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Lexy tries to get a word with “Hangman” Adam Page. The Young Bucks then asks Page what his problem is as he should have made the tag. Nick Jackson then says that if he keeps acting this way he is gonna lose those titles next week against SCU. Matt Jackson then says that he knows what the problem is and takes Page’s cup of beer away. The Young Bucks then head off. Page then looks to think about that for a moment, then randomly brings up a pitcher of beer and drinks some.

Commentary then hypes up next week’s show.

We then get an interview from earlier in the day where Dustin Rhodes talks about MJF giving Cody ten lashes, saying that it will be very uncomfortable for him and the world to watch. Dustin then tells MJF that Cody is a lot tougher than MJF thinks and says Cody has got this.

MJF makes his entrance, accompanied by Wardlow as always.

Cody Rhodes then makes his entrance and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Cody Rhodes is taking his shirt off in order to receive the ten lashes.

Cody Rhodes then takes the mic first before receiving the ten lashes. MJF then says that his belt is too nice for this and says that he wants Cody’s belt. Cody doesn’t like it, but hands it over. There is also a referee in the ring to count the lashes. MJF then cracks the first lash over Cody’s shoulder. The Butcher, The Blade, Kip Sabian, The Bunny, Britt Baker and Sammy Guevara all come out to the stage to watch. MJF then cracks him again and Cody gets in his face. MJF then tells Cody to hit him, but he doesn’t. MJF then hits Cody a third time and Cody goes down to the mat for a moment.

Out from the back comes Arn Anderson to encourage Cody to get up. MJF then yells at Arn, “You can’t help him, old man!” MJF then with a fourth shot on the arm. Cody down and then back up again for another one. Fifth one lands right in the middle of the back. MJF then yells at Cody to quit. Dustin Rhodes is now coming down to the ring. He actually gets inside and says something to MJF, but Wardlow gets in the way. Dustin then says that he will take the other five. MJF then says that is not how this works, it has to be Cody. MJF then tells Dustin to get out and watch, like everybody else.

Sixth and seventh lashes are quick ones and Cody falls down to the mat as Dustin cheers him on. The Young Bucks then head out to the ring as MJF yells for Cody to quit. The Young Bucks then encourage Cody a bit as he rolls out of the ring. He gears back up for the next shot. MJF then hits the next one right in the middle of the ring, “stay down, b—-!” MJF yells. Cody then signals he has two more, then gives MJF the middle finger. Wardlow then asks MJF to do the ninth shot. MJF then hands over the belt and Wardlow hits Cody with the hardest shot of them all.

Brandi Rhodes then walks out to the ring and holds Cody’s hand. He says that he has one more as Cody kisses her hand. Cody is tearing up and he stands up for the final shot. The last shot MJF hits him in the chest. MJF seemed mad that Cody actually made it through all ten of them. Cody’s supporters then get in the ring to help Cody. MJF then kicks Cody between the legs and MJF / Wardlow runs out through the crowd as the AEW roster run out to the ring. It looks like a fan may have tried to get to MJF, but MJF, Wardlow and security threw some punches and held him down as the show comes to a close.
