AEW Dynamite Results (02/12): Austin, Texas

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with an intro video.

Commentary then welcomes us to the show and introduces all of the competitors in the first match of the evening.

The Elite (”Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega) and SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) then make their entrances for the first match of the evening.

The Elite (”Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega) (c) def. SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) via pinfall with a combination Buck Shot / V-Trigger on Frankie Kazarian to retain their AEW World Tag Team Titles. After the match, “Hangman” Adam Page grabs a beer and heads out through the crowd. Back in the ring, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky look disappointed with the results. From the back comes The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Alex Reynolds and John Silver). Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) then run out to the ring to even the odds. Now comes The Butcher and The Blade, TH2 (Jack Evans and Angelico) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson). Everyone then starts brawling as a preview of next week’s tag team battle royal. The winner will face Omega and Page for the titles at Revolution on February 29th. Teams get sent out of the ring with the Young Bucks standing tall at the end of the segment.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and commentary hypes up the rest of the show.

We then get video footage of a sit-down interview Jim Ross conducted with Santana earlier in the day.

Jim Ross asked Santana what he meant when he said he will show Jon Moxley what it’s like to live in darkness. Santana then said that about ten years ago he was living in a terrible apartment, broke, no job, no direction and was at his lowest point. Santana then said that he called his dad and explained to him the same thing. Santana then talked about his father (who passed last month) and mentioned that his dad couldn’t see (started losing his sight at 14 and was basically blind at 25). Santana then said that is what he has to live with and he wants to show Moxley the same kind of darkness.

We then get another black and white video from Darby Allin wherein he holds up pieces of cardboard in front of the video camera, saying it was a mistake to slash his throat with his own skateboard and he will find the Inner Circle. In the meantime, he challenges Sammy Guevara to a match at Revolution. Afterwards, Jim Ross says that Allin has no official return date due to his throat injury.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Dustin Rhodes def. Sammy Guevara via pinfall with the Final Reckoning. After the match, Rhodes tells Hager (or “Jericho’s b—-“) to turn around as he heads up the ramp. Rhodes then asks Hager if he is ever going to get into the ring or just pick up a paycheck. Rhodes then says that he wants a match at Revolution. Hager then heads to the ring, then turns around and heads back.

We then get a recap of Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D breaking Yuka Sakazaki’s tooth after last week’s match.

Tony Schiavone is on the stage and out comes Britt Baker, who gives him a hug. He asks how she can justify what she did last week. She calls it a stupid question and says that as a dentist she was doing her duty for the public because that tooth was in decay and it was coming out anyways. Baker then said that she did Yuka a favor and she did it for free. Baker then rips on Tony a bit, mentioning the barista thing again. Tony then asks Britt about Riho vs. Nyla Rose. She says that it will be an awesome match, but both competitors are still number two compared to her. She then tells the fans to shut their “chubby Whataburger faces” and gets some big boos (and “Whataburger” chants) from the crowd as she continues talking before heading to the back.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a recap of the first title match between Nyla Rose and Riho and the fallout from that.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Nyla Rose def. Riho (c) via pinfall with a sit-out powerbomb to win the AEW Women’s World Title.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the Inner Circle are being interviewed.

Chris Jericho runs Jon Moxley down as a bottom of the barrel scumbag and says that he scoured the globe looking for an assassin to tear him apart limb from limb, so if he is lucky and stupid enough to survive Santana tonight, then next week he has Jeff Cobb ready to give him a Tour of the Islands and a dash of reality. Jericho then tells Moxley that he always thought he would see him in the Inner Circle, but now he will see him in hell.

We then get a video package hyping Jeff Cobb up.

A video package of Cody Rhodes receiving ten lashes last week then follows.

Brandi Rhodes then joins commentary and talks about Cody Rhodes having to face Wardlow on next week’s Dynamite in a Steel Cage Match.

Maxwell Jacob Friedman then makes his entrance to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the next match of the evening is underway.

MJF def. “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry via pinfall with the Double Cross. After the match, Wardlow beats up Jungle Boy some more with a twisting F-5. Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt run out to the ring, while MJF and Wardlow head up the ramp.

We then get a hype reel for Revolution and go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and PAC cuts a promo on Kenny Omega, saying that all of Omega’s problems are because of him. We then see clips of PAC working out. The two will meet in two weeks in a 30-Minute Ironman Match and PAC says that we will see just how good Omega is.

We then get a video package building up to the main event of the evening.

We then get the entrances for the main event of the evening.

Before the main event gets started, AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara sit in their private box to watch the match. Both Jon Moxley and Santana have eye patches as they immediately start fighting outside the ring. They then brawl out through the crowd and eventually make their way into the ring where the match gets officially started.

Jon Moxley def. Santana via pinfall with Paradigm Shift. After the match, The Inner Circle all get in the ring and beat up Moxley. Jericho then whips him with the title and hits him with judas effect, knocking Moxley out. Jericho then calls to the back and out comes Jeff Cobb. Commentary then calls him Jericho’s bounty hunter and mercenary. He then gives tour of the island to Moxley in the middle of the ring and stands over a fallen Moxley as the show comes to a close.
