AEW Dynamite Results (02/26): Kansas City, Missouri

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with an intro video.

Commentary then welcomes us to the show and discusses all of the matches and segments that will be taking place on the show.

We then get the entrances of the first match of the evening, which is a 30-Minute Iron Man Match.

Kenny Omega def. PAC via pinfall with One Winged Angel in a 30-Minute Iron Man Match, with a 2-1 pinfall victory. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews PAC on the stage regarding his loss. Schiavone asks PAC about all the talking he did and for him to lose to Omega. PAC then thinks that Schiavone is trying to mock him. Orange Cassidy then makes his way out. Orange Cassidy then walks up to PAC and takes his sunglasses off. PAC then immediately drops Orange Cassidy, kicks him and storms off.

We then get a hype reel for this Saturday’s Revolution PPV.

We then head backstage where Lexy Nair wants to talk with AEW World Champion Chris Jericho, but Jake Hager answers the door when she knocks. She asks if she can get a word with Jericho, but Jake Hager just stares at her for a moment, then shuts the door.

Taz then joins the commentary booth for the next match of the evening.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt) def. Inner Circle (Santana, Ortiz and Sammy Guevara) via pinfall with a snap hurricanrana from “Jungle Boy” Jack Perry on Sammy Guevara. After the match, Guevara goes after Allin, but gets back body dropped out of the ring and onto Santana and Ortiz.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video package recapping the feud between Cody Rhodes and MJF.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) def. The Butcher and The Blade (Andy Williams and Pepper Parks) via pinfall with Strong Zero on Pepper Parks. After the match, it was announced that it will be PAC vs. Orange Cassidy at AEW Revolution. Schiavone asks Best Friends about their rise in the tag division. Taylor says that they are on their way up, but in regards to Cassidy’s match against PAC, the joke is on PAC because on Saturday, Cassidy is going to try. The crowd then with a “He’s going to try!” chant.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Hikaru Shida def. ”Big Swole” Aerial Monroe, Shanna and Yuka Sakazaki in a 4-Way Women’s Division Match via pinfall with a running knee on “Big Swole” Aerial Monroe.

We then get a promo from The Dark Order. Evil Uno says he and Grayson will take on Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky at AEW Revolution. He then tells Christopher Daniels he will find out that he is now “obsolete.”

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a sit-down interview from Jim Ross on the AEW Tag Team Champions “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega as well as their challengers The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson).

Jim Ross asks the group if they thought this would be a match a year ago. Matt says that he is very surprised to see Page and Omega as the champions, considering they were almost always singles competitors. Matt then says that he felt a veteran tag team, like themselves, would hold the titles. Omega then says that it just kind of happened and situational that they are the champions. Page then questions Omega, saying it sounds like it was just an accident that they are the champions. Matt then points out Page bringing a drink to the interview. Jim Ross then wonders why Page is uncomfortable and seems like he is moving around a lot.

Page then says that he is fine and isn’t uncomfortable. Matt then says that even though they are friends, they are also competitors in the ring. Matt then says that ultimately they are the best in the world and they are taking those titles. Matt then says that they will shake hands and they are the Elite. Page can’t believe The Elite is bigger than the titles. Page then says that he tried to walk out of the Elite months ago. Matt then says that they made Page a star after bringing him in Being the Elite. Nick then says that Page was just a jobber at ROH and they made him a star. Page then says that the tag titles were the biggest achievement of his career and doesn’t appreciate Matt and Nick trying to take that away from him. Page then sees that his drink is empty and bounces.

Commentary then hypes up some upcoming action, including the signing of Lance Archer and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and there is a scale in the ring and Gary Michael Cappetta is introduced for the weigh-in of AEW World Champion Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley.

Jon Moxley is out first, then Jericho (who walks down with the rest of the Inner Circle). The champion then gets in the ring. Cappetta then asks Jericho to step up first. Jericho then tells Cappetta based on his delivery, it is no wonder WCW went out of business. Jericho then calls him a “weird, little man” and says the champion always goes on last.

The ring is filled with photographers, security and others. Moxley weighs in at 234 lbs. Jericho then takes his sweet time to get on the scale and taunts the crowd a bit. Jericho then gets in Moxley’s face and Moxley headbutts the champion, busting him open. The Inner Circle then immediately takes Moxley down. Dustin Rhodes then runs out and clotheslines Jake Hager out of the ring and they go out to the crowd, brawling all the way to the back. Hager then with a lowblow and sends Rhodes into a wall, then the Dippin’ Dots stand. Crowd then with a “Dippin’ Dots!” chant.

Darby Allin then runs to the ring with his skateboard and drops Santana. Guevara then lands a huge running knee as he gets in the ring and smacks the skateboard over Allin’s head. Moxley is still trying to fight back and drops Ortiz. Only Moxley and Jericho are standing in the ring now. Moxley then goes for a paradigm shift, but Santana hits a lowblow, judas effect and then a paradigm shift to his challenger on the scales. Jericho then holds up the title while putting his foot on a fallen Moxley as the show comes to a close.
