AEW Dynamite Results (03/04): Broomfield, Colorado

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with a video package recapping all the events that took place at this past Saturday night’s AEW Revolution PPV Event.

Justin Roberts then introduces the new AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. AEW World Champion Jon Moxley then makes his entrance, with the crowd cheering him on. Jon Moxley then enters the ring, with the crowd still cheering him on. Moxley then plays to the crowd and they get even louder. The crowd then chants “You deserve it” to Moxley.

Moxley says that the title is a beautiful thing because of what it represents, which is none other than professional wrestling. Moxley then says that the belt never belonged to Chris Jericho, it doesn’t belong to him, it belongs to to the fans. Moxley then says that for every fan who said they want something different, AEW brought pro wrestling back.

Moxley then says that there is not a man in AEW who will take the title from his cold, dead hands. Moxley then says that he is not hiding though, whoever wants to step up will gets knocked out or tapped out. Moxley then says that he knows things are not over with him and the Inner Circle after everything he went through with them. Moxley then says that he knows an army is coming after him and has a message for the whole stable: “I dare you.” Jericho’s music then hits and out comes the entire Inner Circle.

Jericho then gets on the mic and says that he doesn’t need a belt to be “Le Champion.” Jericho then says that he realizes the “Moxley Era” has began tonight. Jericho then asks the fans if they like that. The fans then cheer. Jericho then says, “I don’t, I think it sucks ass.” The crowd then with a “You suck ass” chant back at Jericho.

Jericho then says that Moxley’s actions were not that of a champion, since he could see out of both eyes when Moxley made it look like he could only see out of one. Jericho then calls Moxley a cheater and that he turned a good looking group of guys (the Inner Circle) into a hit squad. Jericho then puts the entire roster on notice, saying that he is going to tear everyone apart, even Michael Nakazawa.

Jericho then says that after tonight’s tag team main event (AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Darby Allin vs. Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara) Moxley won’t walk out on his own. Jericho then says that if Moxley can do it, Jericho will take a leave of absence for 60 days. Jericho then says that he always has a plan and Moxley isn’t as smart as he thinks he is. The crowd then with a “Fozzy sucks” chant. Moxley then says that he is going to send Jericho packing for 60 days and make him look like a “stupid son of a b—-.”

Commentary then runs down all of the matches and segments that will be taking place on the show.

Colt Cabana and SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) then make their entrances to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the first match of the evening is underway.

Colt Cabana and SCU (Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) def. The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Stu Grayson, Alex Reynolds and John Silver) via pinfall with the Superman pin from Cabana on Alex Reynolds. After the match, Evil Uno yells on the microphone that this was not how things were supposed to go and that the Exalted One will be furious. Evil Uno then says, “When he arrives, heads will roll.” Jim Ross then notes that Evil Uno said “he” in that rant.

We then get a video package recapping the AEW World Tag Team Title Match from Revolution.

Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D then joins the commentary booth for the next match of the evening and gives Tony Schiavone a Starbucks coffee, then smiles to the camera.

”Big Swole” Aerial Monroe def. “The Librarian” Leva Bates via pinfall with Dirty Dancing.

We then get a video package recapping the Cody Rhodes vs. MJF Match from Revolution.

Cody Rhodes then makes his entrance and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Cody Rhodes gets on the mic.

Cody Rhodes says that he is not sure if he wants to talk about what it’s like to lose personally to MJF. Cody Rhodes then says that professionally, it’s a tough pill to swallow. Cody Rhodes then says that he could deal with what happened if MJF comes out to the ring and tells him he beat Cody, fair and square. Jake “The Snake” Roberts then makes his way out. The crowd then pops and chants his name as he makes his way into the ring. Jake Roberts says that he is sorry to spoil the party but he doesn’t want to hear Cody cry and b—-. Jake Roberts then says that Cody just got his ass kicked. Jake Roberts then says that he is not there to praise Cody, he is there to slay Cody.

Jake Roberts then says that he has a client, The Dark Side, who will be coming to AEW. Jake Roberts then says that he has gotten clean and he has worked hard for it. Jake Roberts then talks about the mind games he would once play with opponents just by using a snake. Jake Robert then says that he will be on the outside of the ring when his client shows up. Jake Roberts then tells Cody to bring that “one trick pony” Arn Anderson with him. Jake Roberts then says that he is not in AEW to take the whole pie, just Cody’s share and heads out of the ring.

We then get a video package recapping the PAC vs. Orange Cassidy Match from Revolution.

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) then make their entrance and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the next match of the evening is underway.

PAC def. Chuck Taylor via submission with the Brutalizer. After the match, Trent gets right in PAC’s face. Cassidy then gets right up in PAC’s face. The Lucha Brothers then run out and double superkick Cassidy. The Lucha Brothers and PAC then clear out the other team. PAC then gets on the mic and says that they are known as Death Triangle and that nobody is safe.

Shawn Spears and Tully Blanchard then cut a promo where Spears talks about giving one person an opportunity of a lifetime to be his partner. Spears then says that there is a lot of wrestlers in the world and that they are running an open search to find the right partner.

QT Marshall then makes his entrance and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the next match of the evening is underway.

Jake Hager def. QT Marshall via submission with the head-and-arm triangle. After the match, Hager holds on to the move, but Dustin Rhodes runs down to the ring to break it up. Santana and Ortiz then make their way down to the ring and attack Dustin Rhodes. Cody then runs out and clears Santana and Ortiz out of the ring. Cody then swings away on Hager, but Ortiz smacks Cody in the back with a chair. They go for another shot, but Matt Jackson runs out and superkicks Ortiz. Commentary then says that Nick Jackson isn’t here tonight. Matt Jackson then swings away on Hager, but eats a high-elevation slam. Hangman Page then strolls out to the ring and tells Ortiz (who has a chair) to take it easy. Hangman then takes a sip of beer, puts it on the ring post and then swings away on the Inner Circle. Hangman then clears out Santana and Ortiz. Hager then sends him out to the apron. Hangman then with a buckshot lariat on Hager, then goes back to his beer. Hangman then sees Matt Jackson and they exchange a few words. Hangman then flips off Matt Jackson and heads out for another beer.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video package recapping the AEW Women’s World Title Match between AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose and Kris Statlander from Revolution.

Commentary then hypes up next week’s show, which features Cody Rhodes vs. Ortiz, Death Triangle in action, an announcement of the rules for Blood and Guts, and Jurassic Express vs. MJF and The Butcher and The Blade.

We then head backstage where MJF (w/ Wardlow) says that he was indeed the final chapter of Cody’s epic odyssey. MJF then says that the fans should pick someone new to follow and that is him. MJF then says that he plans on staying undefeated in AEW and it doesn’t matter who he will face. MJF then suddenly says that it is hot in the room their in and takes off his jacket to show off his “I Pinned Cody” shirt. MJF then says that it is distracting and obnoxious, kind of like a neck tattoo.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the main event of the evening.

The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara) def. AEW World Champion Jon Moxley and Darby Allin via pinfall with a lateral press from Sammy Guevara on Darby Allin. After the match, Moxley runs out from the back as the doctors and referees chase him. In the ring, Moxley throws the chair at Hager and then clears out the rest of the Inner Circle. Hager then back in the ring and hits a cheap shot on Moxley. Santana and Ortiz then bring him up to the stage. Jericho then swings away and lands a knee. Hager then with the standing arm triangle, then Santana, Ortiz and Hager powerbomb Moxley off the stage and down through a table. The Inner Circle then flip Moxley off. Moxley is out and it looks like Jericho isn’t going on that hiatus. The Inner Circle then celebrates together on the stage as the show comes to a close. After the show goes off the air, Moxley is stretched out.
