AEW Dynamite Results (03/11): Salt Lake City, Utah

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with a video package recapping the Inner Circle taking Jon Moxley out of last week’s main event, Jon Moxley returning, then Jon Moxley eventually getting power-bombed off the stage.

“Hangman” Adam Page is then shown being interviewed by Tony Schiavone about who his mystery tag team partner will be for later on tonight. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) then show up. Page then says that it is a mystery, but he wouldn’t pick either of them, it is someone he has known for a long time and trusts.

We then get the entrances for the first match of the evening.

Cody Rhodes def. Ortiz via submission with the figure four leg-lock. After the match, Santana with the cheap shot on Cody with the loaded sock. Matt Jackson and Kenny Omega then make their way down to the ring to help Arn Anderson get rid of the rest of the Inner Circle. From the big screen, Chris Jericho (w/ Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager) then tells the Elite that they are being put on notice. Jericho then says, “In two weeks, we are gonna beat the hell out of you pumpkin head, dip s—s.” Jericho then says that the guys probably wonder where Nick Jackson is. Jericho then says that they ran into him and it looks like he had a bit of a headache. The camera then pans down and Nick Jackson is squashed under a big door, with blood pouring from his head. The Elite and others then run to the back to check on him. During the split-screen commercial, we see medical staff helping Nick Jackson, putting him on a stretcher and taking him to an ambulance. It looks like Cody Rhodes and Matt Jackson (or maybe Kenny Omega) are going to the hospital in a separate car.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

AEW Women’s World Champion Nyla Rose and Bea Priestley def. Kris Statlander and Hikaru Shida via pinfall with a Beast Bomb from Rose on Hikaru Shida. After the match, Priestley drops Rose and then holds up the AEW Women’s World Title for a moment before tossing it to Rose.

We then get a video vignette from Christopher Daniels cutting a promo and mocking the Dark Order while dressed as their spokesperson. Christopher Daniels first runs down the Dark Order, then says that there is no Exalted One. Christopher Daniels then challenges Evil Uno and Stu Grayson to singles matches anytime they like and says that when he beats them and the Exalted One doesn’t save them, it will be proof that he is right.

A podcast ad then sends us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

The Butcher and The Blade (Andy Williams and Pepper Parks) and MJF def. Jurassic Express (“Jungle Boy” Jack Perry, Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt) via submission with Salt of the Earth from MJF on Marko Stunt.

We then get a video package recapping last week’s main event where Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara defeated Darby Allin.

We then get a weird black and white video vignette from Darby Allin where a bodybag with a “Sammy” label is shown with someone wearing a Sammy Guevara mask. Allin has a Jericho mask on. Allin then gets in a truck and pulls the bodybag around a yard with music playing in the background.

We then head to the stage where Tony Schiavone introduces Britt Baker. She comes out with some coffee. Baker says that she is glad Tony is there because there is not much to do in Utah. Baker then makes fun of the state’s liquor laws and the poor oral health among the fans. Baker then says that despite everyone in the crowd looking the same, like we are at a family reunion, everyone can reach their goals, even if it is being a janitor. Baker then says that is why she is there to be everyone’s role model and lead by example. The crowd then boos. Big Swole then makes her way out and says that all Baker does is talk. Swole then gets closer and Baker hides behind Tony. Baker then says that the only wrestler anyone cares about in Swole’s household is her boyfriend (Cedric Alexander). Swole then shows her ring and says, “I’m married…bay bay!” Baker then throws the coffee in Swole’s face and runs off.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Death Triangle (PAC, Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) def. Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) and “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela via pinfall with Black Arrow from PAC on Joey Janela. After the match, Death Triangle locks all three of their opposition up in a triple submission. Best Friends and Orange Cassidy then head out to clear Death Triangle from the ring.

We then head backstage where Lexy Nair talks with Dustin Rhodes and asks him why he is in his ring gear. Dustin says that he is pissed off and is tired of the Inner Circle. Dustin then tells Hangman Page that he is his partner tonight and they are “fixing to do some cowboy s—.”

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video vignette for Shawn Spears’ quest to find a tag team partner, including clips from Suge D, Mr. Brickster and Anthony Bowens, among others.

Commentary then informs us that we are gonna find out who the Exalted One is next week.

Rules for Blood & Guts Match is then announced: Two men enter the cage for one five-minute round. Then every two minutes another participant enters. Match officially begins after all 10 men have entered the cage. The winning team is determined by making any opponent submit or surrender (no pinfalls, no count-outs, or by escaping the cage).

Jim Ross then has a one-on-one sit-down interview with AEW World Champion Jon Moxley. Ross says that Moxley is not medically cleared after last week’s show. Moxley then says that he is not feeling 100% right now, but doesn’t go into specifics. Ross then says that the 1-on-5 odds are tough for Moxley. Moxley then says that he means what he said and calls out Hager after the powerbomb. Ross then asks Moxley what his plan is for Newark. Moxley then says that he wouldn’t miss that show for the world. Moxley then says that the Inner Circle is focused on The Elite, but Moxley is in their blind spot.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the main event of the evening.

”Hangman” Adam Page and Dustin Rhodes def. Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara) via pinfall with Buck Shot from Page on Sammy Guevara. After the match, The Inner Circle immediately attack. Much of The Elite is already gone. Omega then runs out and is attacked as well. Jericho then with judas effect. Cody then runs out and swings away on everyone. Hager then with a big spinebuster on him and he is tossed to the floor. Ortiz then suplexes Cody on the ramp. Page is then brought up to the stage by the group. Page is then almost power-bombed off the stage, but Matt Jackson shows up and takes down the group. He and Page then stare at each other. Matt Jackson then flips off Page. Jericho then cracks both Matt Jackson and Page with the chair. Jericho then puts the chair over Matt Jackson and sits on it. The entire Inner Circle then gathers around him and flips off the camera as the show comes to a close.
