AEW Dynamite Results (03/25): Jacksonville, Florida

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with Tony Schiavone welcoming us to the show with Cody Rhodes and Kenny Omega at the commentary booth with him. They then run down all of the segments that will be taking place on tonight’s show including Darby Allin vs. Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford), Jake Hager in action, Brodie Lee vs. QT Marshall, Kenny Omega vs. Sammy Guevara for the AAA Mega Championship, Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy in a face-to-face confrontation and Cody Rhodes vs. Jimmy Havoc.

Brandi Rhodes is in the middle of the ring doing announcing duties once again in place of Justin Roberts.

The camera then pans to ringside, but it doesn’t look like anyone is sitting ringside this week, but they did show Shawn Spears as well as a few other stars betting on the matches.

Tony Schiavone then notes that Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Taz couldn’t make the trip for the show, but they are all healthy.

We then get the entrances for the first match of the evening.

Cody Rhodes def. Jimmy Havoc via pinfall with Cross Rhodes. After the match, Cody Rhodes has Brandi Rhodes come into the ring for a kiss as he is still in the ring. Sitting by a fire is Jake Roberts, who has a message (via video) for Cody Rhodes. Roberts says that Archer is chomping at the bit to get in the ring with someone. Roberts then says that Cody Rhodes helped get the company going and Roberts (who says he is the best mind in wrestling) says that he doesn’t get a call. Roberts then says that Archer does what he did in Japan and AEW was afraid to initially bring him in because they saw what he did there. Roberts then continues and says that all he is asking is for Archer to get one match with Cody Rhodes (Roberts mentions bringing Arn Anderson and Brandi Rhodes) and says that it is up to Cody Rhodes. Roberts then says, “trust me.”

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Cody Rhodes rejoins the commentary booth.

He responds to Jake Roberts and says that his left elbow might need a “look see at.” Cody Rhodes then says that Roberts’ message comes across “bitter and jaded.” Cody Rhodes then says that Lance Archer can debut in the ring on next week’s show.

We then get a video vignette from Darby Allin. He says that he doesn’t see anything “super bad” about Kip Sabian, they are just words. Allin then says that he has come across super bad people and learned the hard way. While saying this, Allin wears masks from all the members of the Inner Circle. Allin then puts gas on the masks and lights a table on fire with them on it. Allin then says that Sabian will pay for the sins of the Inner Circle.

We then get the entrances of the next match of the evening.

Darby Allin def. Kip Sabian (w/ Penelope Ford) via pinfall with Last Supper.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video vignette hyping both the AEW and Bellator careers of Jake Hager.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Jake Hager def. Chico Adams via referee stoppage with the head and arm triangle. After the match, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley makes his way out and brawls with Hager. Moxley then hits a paradigm shift. Hager then tries for an ankle lock almost right after, but Moxley gets out of it and sends Hager out to the floor. Hager then tires to get back in the ring and Moxley swings the title at him. Hager then decides to make his way to the back. Moxley then says, “You’re walking away???” Moxley’s music then hits.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and AEW World Champion Jon Moxley is interviewed backstage.

Moxley says that he told Jake Hager to check his blind spot and that he goes where he wants when he wants. Moxley then says that he is cleared and that he is 100% good to go and ready for action and that he is out for blood. Moxley then says that Jake Hager walked away tonight, but when the title is on the line, he is not walking away at all. Moxley then says that Jake Hager is gonna be carted out on a stretcher or he is gonna die trying.

We then get a video vignette from last week’s episode of Dynamite where Brodie Lee revealed that he is the Exalted One. Brodie Lee said that Christopher Daniels is very unsafe now.

We then see Brodie Lee eating some steak and talking with Alex Reynolds and John Silver. Lee says that he doesn’t think Silver and Reynolds get it, it’s strength in numbers and they will prey on the weak. Silver then goes to eat and Lee stops him by saying, “Does it look like I’m done?” Lee then kicks Silver out and tells Reynolds, “You don’t eat until I’m done.” Reynolds then sneezes, which just makes Lee mad, kicking him out of the room.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Brodie Lee def. QT Marshall via pinfall with a discus lariat. After the match, Brodie Lee drops a mask on QT Marshall’s prone body and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a recap of last week’s main event.

We then get a recap of the entire feud between the Inner Circle and the Elite.

We then see Vanguard 1 travel to California to check in on Nick Jackson who is currently out of action due to the Inner Circle beating him down. Nick Jackson is working out in his garage as Vanguard 1 scans him. Nick Jackson is apparently 61% healed. Nick Jackson finally notices Matt Hardy’s drone and walks over to it, but the drone flies away and then the signal is terminated.

Sammy Guevara then makes his entrance and we go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and the main event of the evening is underway.

Kenny Omega (c) def. Sammy Guevara via pinfall with One-Winged Angel to retain his AAA Mega Championship.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Chris Jericho makes his entrance and takes the camera from the camera man, who then proceeds to rock out to Judas.

Chris Jericho starts by recapping Matt Hardy joining The Elite and calls them “arrogant sons of b—-es.” Jericho then says that he will give Matt Hardy a chance to make the right decision to join the Inner Circle. Vanguard 1 then flies in and looks over Jericho. Jericho then says that he doesn’t like Vanguard 1 and calls it a “piece of s—” and asks Vanguard 1 to join the Inner Circle.

Jericho then touts all the benefits of joining the Inner Circle to the drone. The drone then flies away from Jericho. Matt Hardy’s music then hits and he is up in the rafters yet again. The camera then blips and Matt Hardy is in the middle row, then the lower part. Matt Hardy then appears just outside the ringside area. Jericho then stammers and asks how Matt Hardy just did that. Matt Hardy then says, “I am magic.” Jericho then says that this show and promotion was built on his back. Jericho then says that Matt Hardy should align himself with Jericho, not The Elite. Matt Hardy then says that he owed the Young Bucks because they resurrected “Broken” Matt Hardy. Matt Hardy then says that he has witnessed what the Inner Circle has been doing in AEW and to him, AEW is freedom and the Inner Circle cannot ruin this paradise.

Jericho then says that he resurrects careers, like Jake Hager and he’s the one who brought Moxley to AEW. Matt Hardy then says that Jericho may know his vessel, but he is Damascus and is 3,000 years old. Jericho then understands reinvention as he has done that over and over again. Jericho then brings up Matt Hardy always living in the shadow — the shadow of his brother, the shadow of bad booking. Matt Hardy then says that he is not any longer and that he is brighter than ever. Jericho then says one last time…is Matt with The Elite or Inner Circle? Matt Hardy then yells, “Delete!” Jericho then says that is not what he asked and wants an answer. Matt Hardy then yells “Delete” some more. Jericho then tells him to stop because nobody is here to hear his stupid chant. Matt Hardy then says that there actually is, there are essences all over. Matt Hardy then brings up people singing Jericho’s song. Matt Hardy then says that he has a song for Jericho and sings Jeff Hardy’s “Obsolete” song.

Jericho then takes off his glasses and says that he doesn’t see anything but a broken down old Matt Hardy. Jericho then slaps Matt Hardy and Matt Hardy then punches Jericho, knocking him down to the mat. Jericho then says that he can do some magic himself and Guevara shows up, attacking Matt Hardy from behind. Both Omega and Cody then run out from commentary with chairs and clears out Jericho and Guevara. The Inner Circle members then back away to the stage. They then look to make a run back to the ring, but fire goes off as Matt Hardy is able to control the fire going off to keep the two away as the show comes to a close.
