AEW Dynamite Results (12/18): Corpus Christi, Texas

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite opens up with an intro video.

Commentary then welcomes us to the show and discusses all of the matches and segments that will be taking place on the show.

The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) and “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega then make their entrances for the opening match of the evening.

The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Rey Fenix) def. “Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega via pinfall with a diving stomp / package piledriver combination on Kenny Omega. After the match, Page and Omega are still in the ring. Page and Omega then start getting into it. PAC then appears on the big screen. PAC says that he wants Omega to follow him to the back. PAC then walks into a room where Michael Nakazawa’s back is towards the door. Omega then runs to the back as fast as he can. During the split-screen commercial break, PAC and Omega then run to the back only to get attacked by The Lucha Brothers once more. Omega then gets up and tries to find Nakazawa and PAC. Page follows him.



The camera then pans over to Darby Allin, who is set to join Cody Rhodes and compete against The Butcher and The Blade. That match is coming up next right after the commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and commentary hypes up the rest of the card.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin def. The Butcher and The Blade (Andy Williams and Pepper Parks) via pinfall with a Cody Cutter (a springboard Ace Crusher) from Rhodes on Pepper Parks.


We then get a video package on Jungle Boy’s training regimen for his match against Chris Jericho for later on in the show to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Awesome Kong makes her entrance, flanked by Brandi Rhodes and Melanie Cruise.

Brandi Rhodes then cuts a promo about how tonight is a holiday of sorts and how the Nightmare Collective may affect the #1 Contender’s Match.

Awesome Kong def. Miranda Alize via pinfall with the Implant Buster. After the match, the Nightmare Collective then cuts some of Miranda Alize’s hair off.

A clip is then shown of Jim Ross interviewing Jungle Boy.

Jungle Boy says that Chris Jericho the man doesn’t scare him, but Chris Jericho the legend he has a lot of respect for. Jungle Boy then says that he is aware of the pressure and gravity of this moment, but he is ready to tackle it head-on. Jungle Boy then talks about how he knows his dad would be proud of him for getting this far and to be here talking to JR and wrestling Chris Jericho would be everything he wanted.

Le Champion then makes his entrance and we go to a commercial break before the match begins.

Back from the commercial break and the match is underway.

Jungle Boy lasts 10-Minutes with Le Champion Chris Jericho. After the match, Schiavone meets Jericho at the top of the ramp. Jericho refuses to believe that Jungle Boy lasted 10-Minutes with him. Jericho then says that the more important thing to discuss is Jon Moxley. Jericho then says that he and the Inner Circle have a surprise for Moxley on January 1st. Jericho then says that he hopes Moxley will make the right decision and say yes to joining the Inner Circle.





We then head backstage where Jennifer Sterger interviews SCU about their title match.

Christopher Daniels says that the Young Bucks might be the tag team of the decade, but they are the team of the year. The Lucha Brothers then roll up and Frankie Kazarian tells Daniels to show them he’s still got “it”, but the Fallen Angel backs down to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Kris Statlander def. Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D via pinfall with a GRODY-LOOKING wheelbarrow Tombstone piledriver to become the #1 Contender to the AEW Women’s World Championship. After the match, Tony Schiavone congratulates Statlander. Statlander then touches his nose. Brandi Rhodes then makes her way out. Brandi then congratulates Statlander. Brandi then says that she knew Statlander could do it. Brandi then says that she has an open-ended question. She wants to know if Statlander is with The Nightmare Collective, or not? Statlander then rejects her offer. Brandi then gouges Statlander with her high heel. Sadie Gibbs then rushes out to check on Statlander as the Nightmare Collective backs off.


Shawn Spears and Tully Blanchard then cuts a promo about how tag team wrestling matters in AEW and how Spears is still looking for the right partner. This sends us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a video package for the main event.

We then get the entrances for the main event.

SCU (Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky) def. The Young Bucks (Matt Jack and Nick Jackson) via pinfall with SCU Later on Matt Jackson to retain the AEW World Tag Team Championship. After the match, The Dark Order and the Creepers surround the ring. The Dark Order is there to initiate SCU and The Young Bucks. Alex Reynolds and John Silver are the only unmasked Creepers. Page, Omega, Cody and Dustin Rhodes then make their way down to the ring to fight. The Dark Order and their Creepers are just too many and powerful to be stopped. The show comes to a close with the Dark Order standing tall on the Elite.
