The Elite (”Hangman” Adam Page and Kenny Omega) def. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent), Proud ‘N’ Powerful (Santana and Ortiz) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) via pinfall with a combination Buck Shot / V-Trigger on Chuck Taylor to become #1 contenders to the AEW World Tag Team Titles. After the match, Matt Jackson gets in the ring and didn’t appreciate what “Hangman” Adam Page did at the end of the match.Kenny Omega then tries to calm him and Nick Jackson down.

We then go to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and commentary hypes up the rest of the show.

Cody Rhodes then makes his way down to the ring and grabs the microphone. He says that he came out there full of his usual self-righteousness and asked MJF to name his price, and he did, and it’s rather expensive. Cody then calls for a graphic with MJF’s stipulations laid out and runs through them bottom to top — he’s got to wrestle Wardlow inside of a steel cage and he surmises that the strategy is that a match that violent will take a toll and give MJF a better chance to win, but that surprises him.

Cody then says that he knows what it’s like to have your thunder stolen and he thinks that people might come to the conclusion that Wardlow shouldn’t be carrying MJF’s bags after they see him in action. And then we have the most controversial of those stipulations, that Cody be lashed ten times on live TV. Cody says that he understands the symbolism, but if MJF thinks that his skin welting and bleeding is the worst thing to come of this rivalry, he’s wrong.

Cody then says as far as not being able to touch MJF, he doesn’t need to because he lives rent-free inside of his head and he and everybody knows that MJF is stalling. Cody then says that MJF has wanted to be famous his entire life, with his pageant mommy and daddy parading him on Rosie as a kid, until he found out that he was good at pro wrestling. Cody then says that all these old-timers say that MJF is a true real old-school heel, but he’s not old-school, he’s lazy.

So as far as these stipulations go, Cody accepts. And he knows the perfect place for the Steel Cage Match, to boot. Cody then says and having this match may mean he has failed as a mentor, but he’s got one last lesson to impart. Cody then says that this isn’t MJF’s story, he’s just one chapter in Cody’s, and at Revolution, he’s going to give him his own goddamn scar.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get a promo from “The Bad Boy” Joey Janela.

He talks about how 2020 is a new year for him but he also talks about what happened in Jacksonville. Janela says that he got punched in the balls by his ex-girlfriend Penelope Ford. Janela then says that time and again he didn’t want anything to do with her, but they both know that the only way Ford can create buzz for herself is on his name. Janela then says now she is walking around like hot stuff with her new sidepiece Kip Sabian.

Janela then dares Kip Sabian to cross this line and moves on, saying last year his record wasn’t what it should have been, but next week he’s got Rey Fenix and something to prove, and he’s gonna show everyone why he’s a Bad, Bad Boy.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander def. The Nightmare Collective (Brandi Rhodes and Melanie Cruise) via pinfall with a wheelbarrow tombstone piledriver from Statlander on Melanie Cruise.

We then get a video vignette from The Dark Order.

A spokesman from The Dark Order says that the group has taken in literally thousands of potential recruits. He then brings up Michael Nakazawa and says that they have seen his desire to want to win. The spokesman is actually talking to the exalted one, who asks about Kenny Omega. The spokesman then says that maybe through Nakazawa they could reach Omega. Brandon Cutler is then shown, and the spokesman says that he has a strong alliance to The Elite, but the Dark Order can do more for him. “Hangman” Adam Page is another target since he is growing distant from The Elite.

Sammy Guevara then makes his entrance for the next match of the evening to send us to a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Jon Moxley makes his entrance for the next match of the evening.

Jon Moxley def. Sammy Guevara via submission with a sleeper hold to move on to next week’s #1 Contender’s Match for the AEW World Title. After the match, AEW World Champion Chris Jericho’s music hits. Then the lights go out. When they come back on, Jericho, Jake Hager, Santana and Ortiz are all in the ring. They immediately take Jon Moxley down. The group then beats up on Moxley for what he did last week where he said no to joining the Inner Circle. Jericho then whips Moxley in the back with the AEW World Title. Hager then with a running knee onto Moxley’s midsection. The group then talks some trash to Moxley. Santana and Ortiz then holds Moxley and Guevara slaps him in the face. Jericho then takes one of the spikes off his jacket and jabs it right into Moxley’s forehead (Moxley selling the eye though). AEW officials and referees then come to the ring to try and get control. Ringside Physician then checks Moxley out as the Inner Circle finally leaves.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and Jon Moxley is being helped to the back.

The Inner Circle are then seen walking backstage when they run into an interview.

Chris Jericho says that this wasn’t their fault, it was Jon Moxley’s fault for spurning them and smashing him in the head with a champagne bottle last week. Jericho then says that Moxley is a rebel and that’s why they had to take him out, eye for an eye. Jericho then says so they are gonna keep an eye on him, since he only has one now, and PAC and Darby Allin should thank him for letting them jump right to the top of the line. Jericho then talks about how they are gonna beat Jurassic Express next week and leave them in the same position they left Moxley in tonight.

We then get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

The Butcher and The Blade (Andy Williams and Pepper Parks) and MJF def. DDP, Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall via pinfall with a schoolboy pin from MJF on QT Marshall.

We head backstage where AEW World Tag Team Champions SCU are asked about their match against Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page. A drunk Page rolls up and interrupts and gets some of his drink on Christopher Daniels. The champions doesn’t appreciate that. Kenny Omega calms them down and says he is looking forward to their match before walking Hangman off.

We then get a commercial break.

Back from the commercial break and we get the entrances for the next match of the evening.

PAC def. Darby Allin via pinfall with Black Arrow to move on to next week’s #1 Contender’s Match for the AEW World Title. After the match, Tony Schiavone talks with PAC in the ring. He goes to ask a question and PAC just tells him he should congratulate the #1 Contender. Schiavone then says that he still has to face Moxley. PAC then says that we saw what happened and that means it will be a forfeit. PAC then tells Jericho, “I’m coming for you, Chris.” We then go backstage where Moxley is being loaded into an ambulance with his eye covered. Moxley then gets out of the ambulance and walks towards the stage. He gets a microphone and says to PAC, “It ain’t going down like that, brother. I don’t care if I’m blind, or have only one eye, I will be there next week.” The show then comes to a close.
